"Oh! Um.." He looks around, still seeing nothing but books, "Can i come with?.."

Bed head zed

"Sure." Falaos replies. What did he mean by he couldn't read? Eh, I won't ask, he probably doesn't want to talk about it. He thought.

Rakgnarok

Fionn Nods and follows Falaos, "Maybe he didn't hear me.." he thinks, seemingly reliefed.

The centaur caught Illadoce by the hair, and pulled him back, his expression of annoyance growing stronger. He narrowed his eyes and said clearly through clenched teeth, "Do not cause any more trouble here, or I will personally evict you." He then released the Hellspawn. "That means no running, yelling, banging your weaponry together, or anything else to disturb our studies."

Max went to go look for Hugh.

Bed head zed

Falaos walks around for a little bit and ends up not even finding the area where the sound came from. "Well, that was pointless."

Rakgnarok

"Oh, well, umm.." He stays silent for a moment, not knowing what to say, "Oh hey, do you think we are to keep these or should we return them to Miss Lidia?" He asks Falaos, lifting the scroll in front of him and looking at it.

Bed head zed

"We're supposed to return them." Falaos replies. "Don't know how though."

Rakgnarok

"Well she did say that if we needed anything we should just say her name and earlier she spoke to me in my head much like Momo does so.." He pauses for a moment "Miss Lidia? Are you there?" He says.

Bed head zed

As Fionn did this, Falaos opened his scroll again and skimmed through it. Making sure he didn't miss anything before he had to return it.

"Yes," Lidia replied with thought, walking down the staircase from the balcony and over to Falaos and Aodhfionn. "I take it you two are ready to return your scrolls?" she thought to both of them.

"Y-yes Miss Lidia, thank you very much." He says, handing over the scroll.

Bed head zed

Falaos closes his scroll. "Yep." He hands Lidia his scroll.

Illadoce froze in place, completely stuck with an expression of extreme fear and pale skin. His tail was completely limp, and his limbs hard as stone. No thoughts came to his head, only the fear of the stupidly high centaur stepping on him and eventually killing him.

Boy, that sure was a bad idea.

The centaur turned and walked away with a huff, muttering something under his breath about undisciplined youth, and his distaste for them. He disappeared into a door on the back wall, and re-appeared on the balcony a while later.

"Well, Liam, as you can see, you don't have to worry about Momo. She hasn't been kidnapped, and won't be anytime soon. So do you mind letting us be, Liam?" Dark says to Liam

Sub was reading the book that he found, minding his own business and waiting for the entire group.

Momo looked at them, then looked down. "Ehem..." she said, trying to get their attention. "...So, Hamel Street..." she pointed out, to avoid a more complicated atmosphere.

Liam looked over at Momo, then at Hammel street.

Momo lifted her hand, as the same sparrow flew and landed on it. "That's the direction closest to the street we're gonna go to..."

Paradox.XXIV

Hugh's sobs went weaker after a few minutes, the rabbit regaining some composure and observing his surroundings through his teary eyes, acknowledging the closest items : a globe, an old pile of old scrolls, and -of course- more books on his back. His paws wandered near his behind, feeling curved patterns carved into the wooden floor.

He sniffed, shook his head, and weakly got up in silence.

Max still looked around for Hugh, trying to see where he went.

Liam turned sharply to face Dark and glared at him. He HATED it when people tried to tell him what to do, ESPECIALLY this guy.

Rakgnarok

After handing out the scroll to Lidia, Fionn bows, "Thank you for your time, and for being so nice Miss Lidia" He says, then he'd start walking towards the most open area near the entrace of the library to wait for the rest of the group, standing there calmly, were it not for his bright colored vest and his silver fur, one would have a hard time noticing him of how quiet and still he is.

Paradox.XXIV

Hugh stood up and stepped forward. The room was circular, wrapped with books over its immense height. The rabbit had to lift his chin pretty high to be able to size the tower he had gotten in. A dim orange light was coming from the few openings, and as Hugh's eyes got used to the darkness, he could identify a slender, black and metallic spiral staircase leading to an upper level.

But Hugh felt the urge to look down, and saw clear, almost shining patters on the floor, glowing from the light the ajar door was giving. There were long and circular curves, almost perfectly shaped, with a few round and full shapes of all sizes, with a few ones linked together with straight blue lines.

"W-wow..." Hugh said, speaking his first word as interest and curiosity took over the past sadness and anger.

"Uhhh... err.... I..." Momo muttered, yet she didn't exactly know what to say or how to react. "...Well, um... I guess... wait... why don't we.... nevermind. Can we just get this over without any harsh feelings or anything that could make the atmosphere terrifying? This is... kinda scaring me, you two."

Max had practically walked a full circle looking for Hugh.

'Okay, I'm lost. .', he thought.

Falaos started to wander the Library, looking for any books that might be useful to read. Man, I suck at first impressions. Thought Falaos as he thought back to what he said to Fionn.

Rakgnarok

Fionn would be standing near the entrace of the library, waiting for someone to come around.

Bed head zed

None of the books Falaos finds are very interesting to him, so he heads to the entrance of the library.

Rakgnarok

Fionn notices Falaos walking towards him, he does a small wave at Falaos, "Hello, again." He'd say once Falaoswas close enough.

Bed head zed

"Heya!" Replied Falaos. "So, I couldn't find any interesting books to read, so I guess I'll just wait here with you."

Rakgnarok

"Oh, really?" He says, taking a look at the humongus library with thousands of books almost painting the walls whole, he then looks back at Falaos, "I see" He pauses for a moment and the continues to say, "Um hey, ive been wondering, well, i should be able to heal people according to miss Lidia but, how do i do that?" He asks.

Bed head zed

"I don't know, maybe you just have to think about it?" Falaos shrugs slightly.

Rakgnarok

"Is that how you use yours?" Fionn asks, tilting his head slightly.

Bed head zed

"Not really, I just kinda make a movement then I create fire. But it seems like each of these things operate differently. Why don't you ask Lidia about it? She probably knows."

Zoe Acker along with her younger sister Sarah Acker arrive in Vile Root.

"And here we are, sis. The hopefully last stop on our journey before Harknest." Zoe says to her much younger sister.

"Finally. He'd better be here. Traveling is fun and all but I just wanna sleep in my own bed and not on a ship that smells like fish." Sarah says

"If he isn't we could always ask the Monks if they have seen him and his group. They would most likely be looking out for them, considering their status." Zoe says "Come on, let's start looking."

"Ive already bothered her too much." He answers.

Bed head zed

"Alright..." Falaos look back at the rest of the library. "I wonder what everyone else is doing, probably reading."

Rakgnarok

Fionn looks away for a moment upon hearing 'Probably reading', "Well, i suppose i cant even test it right now since, theres nothing to heal, which really isnt that bad though, right?" He adds.

Bed head zed

"Yeah, although that guy who controls Earth has a broken leg, maybe if we meet him you could test out your powers?"

Rakgnarok

"Oh, him, that quiet guy.." He pauses for a moment, "Oh theres also Hugh, he seemed to have an injury as well, so i suppose that both of them require some help with that.

Should we go look for them or should we wait here?" He asks.

Bed head zed

Falaos looks at Fionn. "We should probably look for them, it's better than just waiting here."

Fionn nods, "Where do you think they would be?"

Bed head zed

Falaos shrugs. "Let's just look around the library, they can't be very far, right?"

Rakgnarok

"Right" He adds, he'd start following Falaos.

"So, um, if i may ask, how long have you known eachother?"

Bed head zed

"Are you talking about Hugh, or that silent guy?" Falaos asks.

Rakgnarok

"Oh i mean, you and everyone else, a lot of you seem to be really good friends with eachother." He says.

Bed head zed

"Well, I traveled with Max and Sub for a while, so I know them pretty well, but other than them, I've barely talked to anyone."

Rakgnarok

"Oh" He says, sligthly shocked, "So, you dont know everyone's name?"

Bed head zed

"I know most of their names."

Rakgnarok

"Ah, well, im still trying to get to know everyone.."

Bed head zed

"I guess we can meet everyone together."

Rakgnarok

"Right!" He turns to Falaos and smiles.

"Um, if feels like we've been walking forever without finding anyone.." He says, looking around.

Bed head zed

"Yeah, this library's bigger than I thought..."

Max walks around, still trying to find Hugh.

Rakgnarok

"And every single shelf is full of books..

Cleaning this place must be incredibly tiring." He adds.

Paradox.XXIV

Hugh wanders upstairs, only to find an even bigger staircase, looking upwards as he goes. He was still holding the astronomy book in his hand and only stopped a little later to start reading it.

From where he was, the rabbit could perfectly see the system carved on the floor under him, large patters for planets and stars. "S... so..." He quietly said, opening the book.

Mira looked up from her book momentarily, and saw Falaos and Aodhfionn wandering around on the main floor below. She smiled at the fact that everyone in the group seemed to get along fairly well, then went back to reading.

The section she was reading from was written by a Mystery Elemental named Thorn Promise. He was an interesting sounding fellow. His life was lead during a peaceful time, but he seemed to have had great skill in knowledge manipulation, even being able to foretell which of his seven grandchildren would inherit his gift. Mira briefly wondered if she'd ever have children, and if so, which would inherit it from her.

Max finds the entrance to the astronomy tower, finally.

'Huh... I don't think this is where Hugh is, but this does look interesting...', he thought, heading inside.

Paradox.XXIV

A tall, long tailed figure slipped past Max right before he reached the wooden door, immediately hurrying to the center of the ground floor. The anthro being stared at the human with red eyes, unhooding themselves to reveal a pure white fur and an angry looking face where a soft voice came from: "What are you doing here, stranger??" the voice was pure and calm, contradicting with the angry look on the rodent's face. Their eyes were darting slightly on the left and the right, never staring directly at Max.

Hugh had barely finished the first chapter, dealing about the basics of space and planet gravitation, when he heard the voice echo to his ears. He silently gasped and panicked, almost dropping the book but thankfully catching it before it fell down, and looked down to see Max and another person all the way downstairs.

"Huh? I-I'm just curious what this place is...", Max said, intimidated mostly by the surprise, and the angry face.

Paradox.XXIV

"This place is my tower!" The rodent said, twirling adorably, their tail wrapping around their waist as they did. "And I never... erm... see visitors very often, the monks are so kind to let me use their little observatory..." They stopped moving, and pointed next to Max.

"So don't break anything, human! I could show you a few things,-though I don't know how monks permitted you to get in here- but you gotta be careful!", their soft voice said.

Max straightened himself out.

"The monks said not to disturb studies, so if it's not disturbing, then sure, I'd like to see a few things...", he said. "And yes, I'll be careful to not touch anything I'm not supposed to."

Paradox.XXIV

"We're in the skies' room, the stars' tower... Basically the astrology and astronomy aisle of the library, hehe~" they quickly mentioned. The rodent then approached Max, shyly sizing him from head to toes, narrowing their eyes. "You don't seem like any other monk... Why are you in the library?" they asked, turning away to read a book, and another, the nuzzle nearly pressed against the pages as they were reading.

"The group I was in was called here... we're elementals. Me, I'm... what's it...Force? Yeah, that one.", Max spurted out before realizing that, hey: not everyone might like people with dangerous powers.

Paradox.XXIV

"E-Elementals?? in here? Y... you... Eeep!" They squeaked, throwing their book into a shelf as they crawled really close to Max, and took his hands. "Y-you need to see!! I have heard about you, it's so... by the gods, follow me!"

"A-alright. Lead the way.", Max said, glad that he didn't say the right thing to the wrong kind of person.

Paradox.XXIV

The rodent pulled him to the stairs, and started running up. "You won't believe what I saw, it's a story even books can't tell !" they said, before stopping. They seemed very alert all of a sudden, their red empty eyes searching for something they could not see... "D... Did you get in here with someone I didn't see?" they asked, trying to find an object to grab.

Hugh was just above them, looking around desperately. He didn't know why Max was here, and feared that he would be considered an intruder.

"Not that I know of... unless you mean entering the library with my group... but in here, I think it's just us.", Max answered.

Paradox.XXIV

"There is someone else here..." they stated, looking around, up and down. The wooden floor under Hugh made a noise as he tried to hide behind a telescope. "Shhh! Did you hear that?" they whispered to Max.

"Yeah, I did...", Max whispered back, wondering who else could possibly be up there.

Paradox.XXIV

The white furred rodent dared to get to the upper level of the tower, looking around. "I-I don't mean any harm ! Show yourselves !"

Max followed the rodent up.

Fionn keeps walking and looking around, seem rather overwhealmed with so many books around and so little people, he'd shrink a little but keep walking.

In Hideston a Tiger Anthro walks into the Royal Establishment, walking around as if he knew the place like the back of his hand, he'd look for the bounty board, taking a piece of paper off from the board, "Hmm, The Masked Scoundrel, 40p's dead, 60p's alive.." He looks back at the board, taking another paper, "And company, heh, this just got interesting." He says to himself, a smirk drawn on his face, he turns around and stands in the middle of the room, "You guys better start getting ready for when i get back with these guys" He starts saying loudly holding up the papers, "And hey, you better invite me to the execution, wouldn't like to miss the best part!" He finishes and starts heading to the exit.

After searching the town for a bit and asking around, the two sisters, Zoe and Sarah, were pointed in the direction of a Tea Shop that a pedestrian has seen a tall black haired man walk into with three others. The two entered the Tea Shop, and waited at the counter, hoping that one of the waiters or waitresses had seen who they were looking for.

Liam continued glaring at Dark, barely blinking.

The rodent narrowed their eyes, looking at the dark corner Hugh was hiding in. "I c-can hear you ticking !" they said a little softly.

"Just come on out. We don't want to hurt you.", Max said, helping the rodent find whoever was hiding up in the tower.

Sub continued reading his book, so far, it has nothing there that he hasn't already knew, but that's just a quarter of the book and it's only the first book.

Sir John approached the tiger, and called out to stop him. "Hey, you're taking on the Masked Scoundrel? I can give you a little extra information to help you trail him down if you want."

The waitress approached the two women with her customer service smile on. "Good evening ladies. Would you like a seat near a window or in the center of the room?"

Falaos looks back at Fionn. "You okay?"

"Actually, we were wondering if you had recently served a large group of people. We are looking for one of the group members and it would be helpful if you had seen them and could point us in the right direction." Zoe asks.

Rakgnarok

Fionn looks at Falaos, very slightly startled, "Y-yes of course!" He says a bit more nervously, "I-its just that this place is so big and theres so many books and hardly any people around.." He adds, calming down a bit.

The tiger turns around, looking at the knight, "Hmm?" He'd throw an unfriendly glare at him, "Yes, i plan to take down that human scum you guys let loose" he pauses for a moment to let it sink in, a small smirk drawing itself on his face, "I'll take you up on that though, any information i can get would certainly help me take them down faster." He adds.

"Well, what's wrong with that? It's actually kinda nice that there aren't many people around." Falaos said.

Sir John rolled his eyes. "Listen, bud, I don't need your racism right now, okay? Anyways, what I had heard from an... Information source. The group should have about six humans and six anthros. Two wolves, a cat, a rabbit, a fox, and... A dragon. There may be some variation, but they'll stick out like a sore thumb. Promise. As for where they are, the black market of information is your best bet. But as a bounty hunter you probably know that already."

"Why yes, we did have a large group of people through here. They're under the care of the monks right now. I have no idea how long they'll be in the library," the waitress said, anxiously shifting her weight back and forth between her hooves.

"Great. Thank You. Come on, Sarah" Zoe says, turning to leave

"Can we please stay and get something to eat? We haven't had real food since Macaria." Sarah says

"Sarah, if we don't leave now we may miss them." Zoe says, checking one of her many watches

"But I'm hungry..." Sarah says, clutching her stomach and faking a moan of hunger

"Oh, alright fine." Zoe says to Sarah "We'll take a window seat, please." She then says to the waitress

"Its just kinda.. Lonley.." Fionn says.

"Hmm, well that is a rather odd sounding group, allright, and yes, i do know about black markets, don't worry about me, i can take care of myself" He says mockingly, "I suppose some thanks are in order for the information, so, thanks, you better have a plaque ready for when i return with them though, hey, maybe you could even make me a honorary knight huh? Not that you humans would actually do that, would you?" He clearly is just sassing him at this point, "Anyways, see ya later, got scum to catch." He'd start heading to the exit once again.

"Just keep in mind that they're marked as 8/10 on the danger scale for a reason," Sir John said in an unamused voice before sitting down again.

The waitress smiled and brought them to a table by the window, putting down a menu for each of them. "Don't worry, they'll be in that library for a while. Guests always are."

Paradox.XXIV

The ticking sound got a little more specific to one Max should have been used to hear now, as the rodent stepped forward, raising a cane to menacingly treathen Hugh, still hidden. "G... get out!"

They wrapped their skinned tail around both themselves and the human, scared. "... Or I'll~"

"So I have heard." Zoe says. She opens up the menu, looking at the various teas on the menu.

Sarah opens her menu as well, but instead of looking at tea, she skips to the desserts.

"Oh..." Falaos looks around the mostly empty library. "I guess you're right..."

Rakgnarok

"M-maybe we should try to ask someone if they know where your friends are?" Fionn adds.

"Heh, that only means its gonna be more fun for me, besides, everything is always highly dangerous for you humans." He says, exiting the building to get the last word, he'd start walking around Hideston looking at the streets, he turns some corners heading deep into some dark alleys in Hideston, "This seems like about the right place to get some information" He says to himself, he'd knock on a door a few times and wait for a response.

Max heard that ticking sound, and thought about it for a bit.

"Hugh...? Is that you?", Max asked, wanting to make sure. "C'mon out, man...It's fine."

"Who is it?" a sharp, old voice snapped from inside.

The waitress walked off to give the customers time and room to figure out their order.

"Maybe Lidia could help us?"

Lidia lifted her head up, slightly startled, and looked down at Falaos from the balcony. "Something you need?" she thought to him.

"M-maybe.." Fionn says, clearly unsure.

"Oh, just a humble worker looking to find some information about some 'friends', heh" says the tiger.

Bed head zed

"Oh, uh, we wanted to know where the rabbit anthro and that guy with the broken leg went..." Falaos replies, a bit startled.

"Alright alright come in," the man said, opening the door to reveal a dark room with dim red and purple lighting from tinted candles. "So who're you looking for, my friend?"

"Your two injured friends departed with Mind. Time is in he astronomy tower," Lidia replied.

"What should I get... This looks good. But this also looks good. What about this? But this! I can't decide..." Sarah says indecisively

Zoe chuckles "Well, I'll decide for you if you can't" she then says

"No! That didn't work out well last time you did that. I had to eat fish..." Sarah says

"Well then, decide soon, or you will have fish once again!" Zoe jokes, smiling.

Rakgnarok

The tiger walks into the room, "Oh just a large and unusual group of people, 6 humans and 6 anthros, 2 wolves, a cat, a rabbit, a fox and a dragon, they seem to have been part of some 'events' that happened here in this town." He says casually, looking around the place with a rather bored expression.

"It shall be difficult. Very difficult. With such a vague description, it shall cost you a pretty penny to get an accurate reading," the mystic said, sitting down on one side of a crystal ball.

Rakgnarok

The tiger sits down in front of him, "The only other information i have is that one of them, who appears to be their leader is being refered to as 'The masked scoundrel', he apparently wears a mask with a Ruby on it in place of an eye, and as for the money, dont worry about it i can spare some change, ill be getting my payday soon if your readings are any good." He leans back on the chair, crossing his arms.

"All I ask is to the tune of twenty gold," the man said, pointing at a small bowl beside the ball. It was obvious that he wanted payment before doing the reading.

Rakgnarok

"You better make it a deluxe reading, can't leave any room for mistakes." He says, he digs into a bag hanging from his belt and drops 25 gold coins in the bowl.

"Ah yes, this will do wonderfully. Please remain silent as I locate your 'friends', good sir," the man said, closing his eyes and concentrating on the ball. "I see... I see!" he said after some time. "Your quarries are in the town of freaks. The ghastly and the ghouly's last refuge. A small village near the mouth of a river, tucked away just within the woods. 'Vile Root' as they call it. They've gotten quite far from here. The other side of the Aeboran sea. Good luck. They may be long gone by the time you reach there."

He stays quiet, arms crossed, as the fortune teller speaks, once he finishes speaking the tiger shurgs and smirks, "Vile Root eh? Thats quite allright if they're gone when i get there, that place is a gold mine for information, im sure ill have more than enough to track them." He says, standing up, "But just in case, i better get going, the sooner i get there the faster i'll catch them."

"Alright." Falaos turns to Fionn. "Let's go look for the mask guy."

"Mask guy?" He Tilts his head.

Bed head zed

"The guy with the broken leg, he usually wears a mask."

Rakgnarok

"Oh, him, right, where is he?" He asks, "I mean, please lead the way." He adds shyly.

Bed head zed

"He's outside with the girl who can read minds." Falaos replies.

Rakgnarok

He nods, "You mean Momo", He adds.

Bed head zed

"Right." Falaos walks to the Library's entrance.

Rakgnarok

Fionn follows Falaos, "I sure hope we don't interrupt anything important." He adds.

Momo exhaled. "Okay, so you two visibly and obviously don't get along..." Momo commented, with a sigh. "I got an idea, why don't we all go? Are you two okay with that?"

Rakgnarok

As they walk closer to the entrace Fionn suddenly stops, "Wait.." He says softly, "Um, what if i can't?... I mean, what if i can't heal him? What if he gets angry at me for wasting his time? He doesn't really seem like the type of guy who would humor the silly little ideas of someone like me." He says, playing with his fingers nervously.

"No. Why don't me and you just go and Liam does whatever Liam does?" Dark says

Zoe has come to a choice as to what she will have for her small meal. Sarah is still being indecisive, but has come down to two different desserts instead of the many desserts she was choosing from earlier.

Paradox.XXIV

"M... Max...?" Hugh asked, his ears peeking over the telescope. The rodent looked alternatively at Hugh and Max, utterly confused. "H... Hai~" The rabbit shyly spoke up.

"Hey.", Max said to Hugh before looking at the rodent. "He's... he's a friend of mine.", he said to the rodent, motioning towards Hugh.

Paradox.XXIV

Hugh looked at the floor, embarrassed. "I-I don't mean to intrude in the tower..."

The rodent calmed down, speaking softly again. "I guess I'll get used to see Elementals wander around the library anyway..." They let out a short sigh and smiled. "You didn't break anything, or stolen anything?" they asked, narrowing their eyes to look at the book Hugh was still holding against his chest. Hugh made an instinctive scared motion as Max approached, still upset about what had happened half an hour ago.

Max approached slowly, until there was more of a comfortable talking distance.

"You...erm, you kinda disappeared on me, after that guy made that loud noise...", Max said, clearing his throat before "guy."

Paradox.XXIV

The rodent stood a little back, letting the two elementals talk.

A bell tolled eleven times, ringing a low but clear and beautiful sound through the library. "Is it really that late already?" Mira thought, closing the book and carefully placing it back on the shelf Lidia had taken it from. She walked down the stairs and started searching for the others so that they could find an inn to stay in for the night.

Liam heard the bell tolling, but remained with Momo and Dark.

"It's worth a shot, and I'm sure he'd appreciate your attempt to heal him."

He'd nod slowly at Falaos, as the bell suddenly starts ringing he looks around a bit confused "Wait,whats going on?" He asks.

"Maybe something's going on outside?" Falaos opens the door.

"It's eleven o'clock," Mira said, walking up to Falaos and Aodhfionn. "Help me gather up the others so we can find somewhere to stay for the night?"

"Oh, so thats what that was" He says, turning to Mira, "Of course, though it seems like everyone is quite scattered, we tried looking for some of your friends earlier but we just got kinda lost.." He adds.

"Ayfy- Is it alright if I call you that? -You don't have to call them 'my friends'. We're a group. You can call them by that," Mira said quietly.

Fionn's fur fuzzes a bit and his tail starts wagging as a smile is drawn on his face, "S-sure, you can call me whatever you like!" He says happily, "Should we split up to look for them though?" He adds.

"Yeah...", Max said.

"Yeah, just tell everyone to collect here at the doors," Mira said, and turned around to start searching. The first place she went ended up being the astronomy tower. Once she was in and heard the voices above her, she started to quietly climb the stairs.

Fionn nods and heads deep into the library, walking at a fast pace but still careful not to be disruptive, he'd look arount trying to find anyone from the group.

Falaos leaves the library to look for the people outside.

"Am I able to order two desserts?" Sarah asks

"No. I don't want you up all night from all the sugar." Zoe says, checking her watches

"Ugh, fine. I've decided" Sarah says

"Good. Now we just wait. Oh, and I am not letting you have tea. It's way too late in the night for that for you." Zoe says

"Ok, mum, I get it." Sarah says sassily.

Fionn returns to the last place he saw Wisp and the hellspawn at, he turns around a few times and quietly calls out for them, "Wisp? are you here? Umm, Guy with uh, the twisty horn?" he says as he walks around looking for either of them.

"Well, it's late at night now... Would the blacksmith still be open at this hour?"

"Probably not. We can always check in the morning. I am sure they'd be more willing at that time rather than now." Dark says, looking up to the sky at the moon

Falaos walks away from the library and out into the streets of Vile Root. Time to begin my blind search.

Basically this entire time, Wisp had been hiding out in a corner of the library's main room with his nose all but literally buried in a book and his tail and wings curled snugly around him. He had everything around him entirely tuned out, as was the usual when he was reading. When Fionn called out for him, though, he glanced up sharply, then exhaled slowly to calm himself down.

"I'm over here," he called softly. "Did you need something?"

Fionn walks a bit closer to Wisp, "Oh, hey, sorry to bother, its just that its getting late and we are going to go look for an inn, if you could, would you please join us? You can go wait for us at the entrance while we gather the others if you wish." He says to the dragon.

"Oh. Yes, that's fine," Wisp replied, and he stood up, gently closed his book, and returned it to the shelf where he'd gotten it from. "I... I know a place in town here, if you like. I stayed there while I was doing some illumination for a client over the past couple of weeks. They should have enough room if people don't mind sharing."

"Oh, that sounds lovley!" He says, smiling at Wisp, "First we will have to gather everyone though." He adds as he takes a look at the intimidatingly big library.

"Did you really agree with what Illadoce did??" Hugh raised his voice a little, his nose twitching more than usual.

The rodent stepped back in embarrassment, having heard the eleven o'clock bell. "W... Maybe we should talk to t-this at another time... It-It's getting late..." they tried to speak up. 'Though this night seems perfect to stay in the tower and study the stars...' they thought to themselves.

"Hugh? Is that you up there?" Mira called up the stairs halfway up her climb.

Noticing Wisp and Aodhfionn's conversation, a monk walking by approached with a smile. "You two are welcome back here at any time. We always appreciate well-behaved elementals. And there's an open area just over the courtyard if you would like to fly in rather than try to navigate the maze of streets that brought you here," they said, then briskly walked off.

The waitress came up to Sarah and Zoe. "Are you ready to order?" she asked. As the bell from the library rang through the town, the girl working in the kitchen went to the front of the store and flipped the sign from open to closed before returning to the kitchen.

"I'll have some cheesecake, please." Sarah says

"That. And I will have a piece as well." Zoe says

Wisp shuffled his wings and called a sheepish 'thank you' after the monk. More words curled on the tip of his tongue—I can't really fly, sir—but he failed to speak them.

Max heard Mira, but didn't really pay attention.

"No, I really don't. Plus, there's the whole 'Don't disturb our studies' thing that Lidia said.", he replied. After that, he noticed the bell.

Hugh crossed his arms. "Hmpf, I guess I can believe you..." The rabbit said, before his ears perked up at the sound of Mira's voice echoing through the tower. The rodent's ears did the same, despite being shorter than Hugh's.

"M-Mira??" Hugh asked, leaning over the balcony. "Another Elemental???" the astrologist asked, their cheeks getting red as they were torn between stupefaction, shyness and angriness for having so many people in their tower at once.

They turned to Max and Hugh : "You really should leave the library now, everybody needs sleep."

"How about you?" Asked Hugh.

"Oh, don't worry. I have many stars to keep an eye on you and me..." They replied softly, excusing themselves before running to the top of the tower. "Have a good night !"

Hugh sighed, leaving the floor him and Max were on to step down to Mira's. "It'll be for later, I guess..." he whispered to himself, his ring shining in the dark staircase.

Mira smiled as she saw that the two were going to follow her without her needing to explain. "We're meeting up at the main doors," she said, leading the two out of the tower. "Hugh, do you want to help me find the others?"

Hugh was following close, his head lightly tilted on the left. "Momo, Dark and Liam are still in town... Haven't found the blacksmith yet..." He chuckled. "They should give up for tonight, he won't be open this late."

Hugh kept his eyes staring at his dial, and glanced at his ring, keeping shut until the three Elementals reach the tower's large doors.

"Well, im gonna get going to look for the others, you can join me if you wish or you could wait for us at the entrace." Fionn says to Wisp, "Please excuse me." he says, bowing quickly and then starting to walk away to look for more people.

Hugh suddenly frowned. "Wait, who's left to find, Mira?" he softly asked to the cat.

Illadoce was pretty much lost in the library at this point. He wandered left and right, forward and backward, every direction possible to go. Eventually, he arrived at a seemingly empty part of the library, where the books, though well-kept, loomed over the Hellspawn, and the shelves stood high. He shook in fear, as he was not sure where he exactly was.

"H-Hello? Anyone there? I'm kinda lost..." He said softly, not wanting to be spooked by the centaur again.

Fionn walks around the library for a bit more, upon not finding anyone he returns to the entrace of the library, waiting for Mira and the others.

In a far away town, a large group of robed humans and anthros are sitting in front of an alter. Richthofen walks up to the alter and begins speaking. "I am truly sorry about my two children. I was just informed that they entered a sacred ground and stole an artifact from it. My son was executed but my daughter escaped with the artifact. We are trying to contact an assassin so we can return the artifact. I am so sorry about this, I never expected that they would betray the cult."

Falaos gives up and starts heading back to the library. Why do I always end up wasting my time?

"Ah... I have no idea. Let's just see if we can round everyone up that we can, okay?" Mira asked, playing with her ring a little. "Oh, and after we're done here I want to try something that I need your help with."

Fionn stands at the entrace of the library waiting for everyone, he looks around, staring at all the bookshelves, "I can't wait to get out of here.." he mutters to himself making a face of discomfort.

"Should I go find some people?", Max asked.

Falaos returns to the library and walks inside. He sees Fionn, but he doesn't say anything.

Fionn looks at Falaos, as he gets closer Fionn waves at him, "Welcome back!" He says smiling at him, "Did you find anyone?" He asks.

"Nope, but they'll probably return."

"Oh, Well, i found wisp!" He says cheerfully, "But i couldnt find anyone else after that so i came back here on my own.." He says, lowering his ears a bit.

"M-My help??" Hugh asked in utter surprise, wondering what help he could even bring to Mira. His ears perked up and his left one tilted as Max spoke up. Hugh turned to him, smiling and blushing a bit. "If Illadoce hasn't moved from where we all three were a little ago, you won't have to search for a long time before finding him..."

The rabbit rubbed his right paw on his left shoulder in discomfort, shuffling it up to his right ear, that was still buzzing from the noise Illadoce had struck next to it earlier. "Ow..." he whined silently.

"Why don't we go look for the others together?" Falaos asked.

Fionn cheers up again and nods, "Allright, though we should not go too far, Mira might return soon." He adds.

"let's go!" Falaos starts walking towards a random section of the library.

~Oh, hey! We are looking for everyone so we can head out to ann inn for the night, have you seen anyone around?~ He asks scarlet as he walks along following Falaos.

"No one really." Scarlet says with her head down as she follows Fionn.

Hugh kept walking with Mira and Max, still in the astronomy and astrology aisle.

Dark followed Momo toward the library. The tea he had had earlier had worn off, and he was suddenly tired.

"I hope we find them soon." Dark says, yawning.

Wisp opted to wait at the entrance of the library. He remembered that he had been told, along with the others, that he could put his scroll on a table by the door before leaving. So, he did just that.

Then the young dragon anthro stepped outside. He sighed and pulled a breath of fresh air into his lungs; as lovely as the atmosphere of a library so grand was, too much of the smell of old books made a chilly, frosted night like this smell crisp and clean without the unpleasantness of alcohol's sharpness. The part of Wisp that so strongly remembered growing up among so much antiseptic loved it.

Tucking his slender wings close around himself for warmth, Wisp padded forward on the stones of the courtyard and stared up at the sky, at the stars winking through the light cloud cover. His thoughts turned to the scroll he had been given. He pulled his shawl a little more tightly around his shoulders, closer to his neck—the yarn crackled faintly with static where it brushed its match on Wisp's knitted forearm sleeves, but he was so engrossed in his own wondering he didn't notice it.

"We'll get to them soon..." Momo said, smiling. She heard Dark's yawn. "You still okay there?"

Fionn looks around as he walks around the library with Falaos and Scarlet not straying too far from the entrace, he spots Mira's group across the room as they walk towards the entrace, Fionn stands in place looking at them and raises his arm slightly, waving at them and unknowigly wagging his tail in unison with his hand.

Hugh immediately waved back with a smile, before looking all awkward and embarrassed. His ears perked up and he ran back to the astronomy aisle they had just left, to put the book he had taken away, back in place. He'd be back in a minute or so.

Fionn frowns slightly and tilts his head, "Did i do something wrong?" he thinks as Hugh suddenly turns around and runs back in the diraction he came from, Fionn stays still where he is waiting for the group to catch up.

Scarlet paces back and forth looking very akward.

Fionn gives Max a warm welcoming smile as Max waves at him, he then turns to look at scarlet who is pacing around, ~Scarlet? Is something wrong?~ He asks the wolf.

Falaos doesn't notice Mira's group and keeps walking, unknowingly going towards Illadoce's location.

Fionn notices Falaos but as to not be disrespectful to the other group he stays still, waiting for them.

Hugh hurries back to catch up with Mira and Max, smiling.

Fionn would seem slightly nervous, he'd keep throwing glances at Hugh as the group gets closer but still tries not to stare too much as to not make Hugh uncomfortable, he'd start playing with his fingers a bit as he keeps waiting for them.

Falaos looks back at Fionn and he spots the other group. He waves to them.

Momo kept walking towards the library's entrance. She goes in. She continued to walk along until she spots the others.

Hugh finally reached Fionn, all while having waved back at Falaos. "Hey !" he called, huffing a bit. "I had forgotten to put back my astronomy book, hehe..." He simply said, smiling at the wolf.

Max waves back to Falaos, smiling because he was happy to see so many of his friends together.

"Oh, right, it would most definetly be bad to take a book without permission right?" He says and smiles back at Hugh, after a small moment of silence he resumes speaking, "Say, Hugh, so um after 'reading' the scroll i was given i asked Miss Lidia if she was sure i was the right person and she seemed pretty sure and after speaking to Falaos it seems that its possible i get these powers somehow because of.. m-my last name..." he pauses for a moment and looks downwards.

"But well apparently i should be able to heal people although i dont know how so i was wondering if maybe.. you could help me? I mean i really dont know how to do this but if i can maybe i could help with um, your injury?" He asks, smiling shyly as he does.

"Haha, yes !" Hugh said, rubbing his arms in a bit of embarrassment. "I wouldn't dare make the monks angry, definitely." He added softly, standing next to Mira while Max was mostly turned towards Falaos.

"..." Hugh was a little silent after Fionn mentioned his name again, but Hugh shook every sadness away in an instant, and chuckled. "I told you you would be special to us ! Nice !" he said, patting the wolf's shoulder before he mentioned his shoulder, that seemed to sting at the same time. "H-Heal?"

The rabbit looked around, not noticing Wisp with this quick glance. "Well... Wisp said it should heal itself within a few days if I keep it... erm... still... But I kind of had a bad moment of stress earlier... and..." Hugh's sentence faded away in a soft hissing sound, as he uncovered his left shoulder from his paw, showing a light stain of blood through the bandage. "It shouldn't have opened... should it?" He gulped down his saliva, looking right into Fionn's eyes.

Fionn's eyes widen as Hugh reveals to him the blood stained bandages, "Ahhufhg" he mutters failing to place a word together, he quickly turns away from Hugh and starts walking in small circles, "oh-by-the-gods-he's-acually-bleeding" he mutters to himself as he places his left hand over his left eye and his breathing gets a bit heavy.

Hugh shrugged his left shoulder but didn't look at Fionn at first. He touched his shoulder. "Hey, it doesn't seem to bleed anymore but-" he interrupted himself as he looked at the wolf acting oddly. "A-are you alright?"

He stops pacing around "I-im sorry, i have an issue, w-when i see blood i.. get dizzy.." he says to Hugh, lowering his ears slightly and clearly avoiding to look directly at Hugh.

Fionn didn't even have the time to finish his sentence, that Hugh immediately put his paw back onto his shoulder, horrified. "I-I'm sorry !" he squeaked, hiding his wound, and stepping back a little behind Mira. "I d-didn't know !"

Fionn would seem somewhat surprised, he looks in Hugh's direction, "No, please, don't apologize, it wasn't your fault, i mean, a Wolf that is scared of blood and one who is supposed to have magic that heals, I-its so stupid, it sounds like a joke, doesn't it? Besides, i did ask about your injury, it was foolish of me to Not expect to see blood..." The wolf said, his eyes tearing up slightly as he lowers his ears further.

Falaos was just sorta... staring off the whole time. It seems like he's just thinking.

Fionn looks around, noticing how the others might be staring, he rubs his eyes sligthly with his paw/hand, "Im sorry, i didn't mean to make a scene, ill just go wait outside" He says, he bows, turns around and starts walking towards the exit.

Max was blanked out, not noticing that much was happening. Go figure.

Hugh's ears would have flattened on his back in sadness, as he saw Fionn turn around and leave. But the rabbit frowned and got to him, and called him out. "H-Hey, Fionn !" he said out a little bit too loud, exiting with him.

The rabbit looked around, not wanting to perturb the calm of the library again. "... You... You shouldn't be ashamed of that, I understand... But if you want, we can still try to get you over that fear... together?" he added softly, right before opening the gate.

Scarlet followed fionn saying,"Let me come with you!! I mean being in doors is fun and all but I feel better being outside."

Fionn looks at Hugh, he smiles gently and nods, "That would be nice", He looks at scarlet, ~Of course, i understand perfectly~ He says to scarlet, he continues to walk through the gate and waits for Hugh and Scarlet to come along once he is outside.

"But let's get a place to stay tonight first, if I don't get myself wrong, it's really soon to be my favourite time of a day..." Hugh softly said, peeking his head out of the library to stare at the night sky.

Scaelet scampers outside saying,"Finally!! I can be outside again!!"

"Right, we should probably ask Wisp, he told me earlier he knew a place we could stay at for the night" He adds, not really minding much the night sky.

Scarlet looks up at the night saying,"Ah... This is something you dont see if your indoors unless you have some invisible screen like thing..."

Illadoce continued to aimlessly wander the library, until he eventually sees a warm light. He sprints towards it, and eventually ends up where the group was beforehand. He ran around the library panicked and soon found the exit, where most of the group was standing. He stopped next to the adventurers, gasping for air, his face almost completely pale and his tail certainly quivering, vibrating like it was a friggin' boat engine.

He held his chest while panting, thankful that he didn't come across the centaur that scolded him earlier. "N-Never again..."

Fionn looks surprised as the hell spawn practically bursts through the door as if being chased by a banshee, he raises his hand slightly as if to offer help but quickly retracts it upon recalling their last encounter, he turns to Hugh and looks at him as if asking him to handle this one.

Hugh frowned and ignored the Hellspawn. He even turned his back to him and crossed his arms. "Hmpf."

Upon hearing dark's snarky commentary Fionn's gaze turns to him, a bit of surprise and disbelief painted on to his face as he does, "Thats so insensive and rude, why would anyone say such a thing like that?" He thinks.

Mira shook her head, as though breaking out of a sleep. She wondered why she found it so hard to focus anymore.

Fionn stands there confused for a moment, "Why arent they helping their friend? Why is Hugh so upset all of a sudden?" He thinks, as no one seems to be doing anything about it, he takes a deep breath as silently as he can and walks up to the Hell spawn, "H-hey, are you allright?" He asks the Hell spawn with a worried look on his face.

Max returned to the world around him, and saw Illadoce breathing heavily, and Fionn talking to the former.

He shrugged, and stood there.

The Hellspawn hissed at Fionn and swiped at him, just as a threat and not as an attempt to harm the illiterate wolf. He sat down for a while, still panting, and laid on his back, his pupils tiny due to fear and his face slowly colouring up again. His hair was messier than usual, and he was sweating a lot.

He glared at Dark and others, and looked back up, tired.

Hugh approached, his arms still crossed but his face obviously showing more concern as time had gone by. He stepped closer to the Hellspawn. "You alright there now?" he simply asked, crouching next to him.

Fionn steps back upon being hissed and swiped at, "I.. I was just.. Im sorry" he says to the hellspawn with a rather saddened look on his face, he steps even further back as Hugh seems to take over the situation.

Hugh turned to Fionn, smiling a bit. "Maybe you could help here, I'm sure..." he whispered him with an inviting wink.

"Ah, don't worry, Fionn. He's just being how he was to Hugh and I to you.", Max said. "Kinda petty to hiss at someone trying to help, honestly."

"M-me? But.. I think he is still angry at me, earlier his broken horn got chipped because of me.." He whispers to Hugh.

Falaos silently walks to the entrance of the library.

Hugh turned to stare at Illadoce's horn. He grimaced, and turned to Fionn. "Ouch." he admitted to the wolf. But the rabbit immediately smiled again. "Then you're in debt to him, that way he can forgive you."

Fionn thinks for a moment, "I suppose you are right" He answers to Hugh, "But, what can I do to help him? He just seems scared, not injured, and i dont recall wisp saying anything about 'healing' fear.." He says, clearly stuck in the 'healing powers' mindset.

"Don't you know a calming song, maybe?" The rabbit suddenly said a little louder, his ears perking over his head as Hugh got the idea.

"That may work, he seems to need something to put his heart and mind to peace..."

"M-me?! S-sing?!" He says surprised as he blushes, a bit louder but still in the whisper realm.

"I don't know any good one!" Hugh chuckled.

"W-well i usually dont do these kind of things, i might not be good at it.." He adds, still blushing.

Dark walks over to Fionn and Hugh.

"What are you guys doing?" Dark asks, having been watching them talk for the past couple minutes and growing curious.

"W-well, there is this one song my father sung once..." Fionn's fur would be fuzzy as he gets ready to hum a song, he looks at hugh and dark, "P-please don't stare..." he says, he takes a deep breath to calm down a bit and starts humming what sounds like a lullaby, he hums gently and starts in a rather low volume but gets louder as he continues, he closes his eyes and continues humming, remembering bits and pieces of his parents, suddenly a soft soothing feeling would come to those standing nearby Fionn and any pains they have would suddenly start feeling as if they were fading slowly.

When Fionn had said not to stare, Dark had felt confused. Not knowing why he shouldn't stare, he simply just stood there and waited for whatever he was about to do to happen. He did not expect Fionn to start singing.

From being in the aura, Dark's stump of a leg begins to heal. The wound starts to slowly close, slowly stopping the blood loss. He suddenly feels calmer then he was before, which is saying something considering he was calm before.

Paradox.XXIV

Hugh followed Fionn's instructions, and stared at Illadoce instead, not moving a muscle. He was so mesmerized by the wolf's lullaby, and so focused on the Hellspawn that he didn't feel his shoulder getting healed progressively.

Instead, Hugh felt peace and calm within his chest, his little heart getting rid of any anger he would still have had for the Hellspawn at this moment.

Max heard the lullaby, and was soon calm and at peace with himself.

Falaos closed his eyes and listened to the lullaby. He began to forget about his worries.

Scarlet began to feel sleepy hearing the lulaby and falls asleep lying on the floor.

The soothing feeling, sadly, didn't affect Illadoce, so he hissed at Fionn again and continued glaring at everyone. He growled and took out his sword, his tail swinging like a cat's tail when angry.

"This was a terrible idea! I was almost MAULED by some horse fucker and I was almost stranded in that gods-forsaken library!" He turned to Fionn with the same expression, puffing and huffing while his face was red and a vein pulsated on the side of his forehead. "And what the HELL do you think you're doing?! 'Oh look at me I'm a healer n' shit so I'll sing and my problems will magically fly away'- NO. Just SHUT UP, and go do something with your life for once!"

Illadoce continued huffing and puffing, backing up into a corner, while the spirals in his eyes spun, as a defense mechanism. The angrier he got, the more venom dripped from the tip of his tail.

Falaos opens his eyes and begins staring at Illadoce with a look of anger.

Max picks up Illadoce using his telekinesis, the peace soon turning to anger, a red glow soon enveloping the Force user.

"You. Will. Shut. Your. Mouth. Or I'll do it for you!", Max demanded, holding Illadoce up in the air.

"Ok, guys, let's all just chill. We're still on Monk Property, so let's not resort to violence, okay?" Dark says, attempting to be the voice of reason.

Fionn stops humming, he looks back at illadoce with a scared look on his face, "w-what? I just wanted you to feel better.." he says, looking downwards as if getting scolded.

Fionn's expression turns to surprise as soon as illadoce is lifted into the air and threathened by max, fionn quickly turns towards max, "Wait! Please stop!" He yells out at max, quickly shrinking in shame for yelling at someone, "I-i mean, please dont hurt him, he's right! I shouldnt have done that, why would me singing help him at all? I was foolish and inconsidarate, so please, dont hurt him over what he said to me, he was just speaking the truth" Fionn pleas to max, trying to stop the conflict.

Max lets Illadoce down, but points towards him.

"You're so lucky right now, I swear...", he said, before turning to Fionn. "And you tried to help! Why is he in the right?", he asked Fionn.

"Because i could have done something actually useful like bringing him some water or something, but instead i just stood there humming a silly song, as if that would solve anything..." He explains to max.

"But that doesn't mean you're in the wrong... that song was calming... you know what? You need to stick up for yourself, Fionn. You aren't always in the wrong. You don't always need to be sorry.", Max explains.

Fionn blushes and his fur gets fuzzy as max compliments him on his signing, "Thank you, thats a very nice thing to say but, i do need to apologize, i upset him one way or another and he also has reason to be angry at me because of what happened last time i saw him, besides, 'you must always apologize when you upset someone, even if youre right' " He says, clearly speaking someone else's words at the end.

HolyTraitor

Illadoce hissed after being picked up, and when he was dropped, he shouted and charged at Max, having his poisonous tail pointed directly at the human's eyes. He prepared to sting the elemental when he got closer and closer, dropping his sword on the ground when he was about the sting Max.

Are You Freddy For Ready

Dark moves his right crutch under Lynet's tail and tries pulling it away from Max's face, using his right leg and left crutch to stay stable.

"I. Said. Chill" Dark says, his eyes turning red. Weakening activates, weakening Lynet a small amount, not noticeable at all.

Max' s glow turns a violet shade, and he looks as if he's about to foam at the mouth. He starts making a very angry growl, and looks ready to fight and kill Illadoce.

Fionn suddenly stands in front of max, standing between illadoce and max, "P-please stop fightning!" He cries out, he is clearly scared, having his tail under his legs but stands adamantly in between of max and illadoce.

Liam summoned some tendrils from the ground and bound Max and Illadoce in place, restricting their ability to move or do anything.

Max was suddenly feeling a tense pain in his chest from the sudden shift in mood, and the glow quickly went away, as he was bound in place.

He made some grunts of pain, and was most focused on the sharp pain.

"Well, that's one way to settle this." Dark mumbles to himself, putting his right crutch back onto the ground to support him.

Though I wouldn't consider it non violent... Dark thought, looking at Liam for a second, then looking at Max and Lynet, his eyes still the color red.

"Okay guys, can we not try to kill each other please?" Dark says to Max and Lynet

"F-fine... as long as he doesn't doanythingstupid...", Max said, rushing the last part because of the pain.
