Elemental Inheritance Template
Notes to follow when you are making your application
Element must be available
Name cannot be silly. A pun can be excused, but "Zoosmell Pooplord" just isn't going to fly.
Race must be applicable
Mind: Human, Sheep
No young children or elders
Must be between 18 and 50, give or take depending on race.
Sex and gender must be realistic
Keep to male/female for the sex, and generally accepted terms for the gender.
If you would like clarification on what is "generally accepted", speak to someone in chat.
A picture would be lovely for the appearance section, but is not mandatory. Description is king.
Personality must be in five traits.
List and then explain how each of the traits fit.
No synonyms. You can't get away with "nice, kind, friendly"
Two strengths and three flaws are MINIMUMS.
Add as many as are applicable, but please keep a general balance between the two.
Strengths should be skills, or something they have physical prowess in that is not guaranteed by their race.
Flaws should be a mix of physical weaknesses, mental weaknesses, social weaknesses, et cetera.
List family both alive and dead, out a couple generations.
You don't need to give a whole detailed family tree and history, but we should have some idea of their setup in life.
For the backstory, realism and research are mandatory.
If the character does not or cannot fit the lore of the story they will not be accepted under any circumstances.
In the Elemental Inheritance application...
You must include enough of a family tree to prove that the character is possibly related to the Element you seek.
You must provide an explanation as to why the Element would choose your character.
All Elements will be more likely to choose someone who is a part of the group rather than someone in another area. They want the plot to work out as much as we do.
Mind prefers hosts to be as young as possible.
Mages cannot become Elementals.
Keep in mind that this form is shorter, but you should be aiming to have a lot of solid and logical explanation in it.It's easy to make a character fit the bill, but making the bill fit a character takes some doing.
Hugh woke up, knees against his chest and laying with his face against the pillow while his paws were tucked under it. This would seem like a rather uncommon position for other species, but in fact it was a quite usual one for rabbits whenever they'd find a comfortable spot, and that's exactly how it felt. Hugh opened his eyes and yawned, noticing Fionn and Dark had left the room already.
"Aw, I'm late..." he spoke to himself, groaning and getting off the bed to go to the bathroom, stripping down and cleaning himself before getting ready for what would seem to be a sunny day.
Dark watches Fionn from his table as he got Max and Alexis food.
Huh, maybe he was a butler or waiter before... he thinks to himself
Zoe got out of the bath and dried herself off. She grabs the spare clothing she had brought into the bathroom and put them on. After this she walked back into the room Sarah was in. Sarah was sitting on the bed with a new change of clothes.
"Shall we?" Zoe asks. Sarah nods. The two leave the room and head down to the lobby.
(I totally didn't post on the previous part not knowing this part was up.
"It's morning. Probably around six o'clock," Mira replied, turning around to look at Momo. "Hey, do you think we should steal the sample bath salts?"
The dark hooded figure woke up, and gave water to their horse again. They ate a quick breakfast from their pack, and stood up. After ensuring that their horse was securely tied down, they packed everything up, threw on a cape, and walked around the outskirts of the town, hoping to find the tiger again.
"Bath salts? Someone gives that off in here?" she said, as she stood up from the bed. "Stealing is a little too much...Up to you if you want to steal it, but I'll tag along. Hopefully, it's not those strange side-effect ones..." Momo continued with a giggle.
"Oh?" The young man wondered as he noticed Liam change paths. "Interesting... I wonder if he catched up to me."
As the man said that he turned onto a nearby alley and blended with the shadows in expectations of concealing himself from the boy, he then held up a paper that he had in one of his pockets and passed his eyes through it again.
The paper had the names of several suspects that could be identified as elementals but that weren't confirmed as such, some of them were crossed out.
Before he folded the paper back onto his pocket he read one last thing written on it. 'If you find the current location of the elementals Raole, report immediately to the Black Legion so we can send an ally to aid you.'
"Hm... I dont think that will be necessary though." He spoke to himself.
Hugh exited the bathroom, feeling fresh and, for once, fully awake. He smiled to the sun drawing lines on the wooden floor through the window, and got clothed. He glanced around the room after making the beds and putting the bucket back in the bathroom.
The rabbit turned to leave, but spotted Dark's stuff in a corner. Other than that, the room was pretty clean. "Huh," he frowned, "I wonder if I can let these here while everyone's gone..."
"Very smart boy..." Raole spoke still from the alley with the darkness covering his figure. "Seems like it wasn't a very good idea to follow this one, I'll have to find someone else that can lead me to the others."
After saying that, Raole exited the alley and started walking the opposite way of Liam.
After he slowly came to, Wisp got dressed and made his way downstairs to get breakfast. He ordered the sausage and pancakes, then went to a table out of the way to sit and wait for it to be ready for him.
While he waited, he thought about what Hrr'Ta's scroll had said. Something about it was niggling at him—what was so bad about Mind that he had to stay away? How was he supposed to focus on his 'core'? The whole thing wasn't explained very well, he thought.
Raole was still walking away somewhat disappointed in himself having failed a simple task, he wasn't really looking where he was going, more looking at the ground as he walked, he decided to take a turn around a corner.
"I'm gonna do it," Mira said with a mischievous giggle. She went into the bathroom, scooped the samples up, and wondered where she could put them. "I wish I could just store them away like I stored Dark and myself earlier... Hey wait? What if I could? The way June taught me should work," she muttered to herself. Within a few moments she managed to poof the items... Somewhere. She decided she would figure out how to retrieve them later.
The cat left the bathroom. "I'm going to go downstairs and see how everyone else is. You can stay here as long as you like, or come down too," she said, leaving the room.
She wandered down the stairs and into the dining area. She looked around with a concerned expression on her face. She went up to Max and asked, "Hey, have you seen Ayfy?"
"Johnathon as in the Johnathon that the Cult of Berko is hunting? Might be someone I can use. I must think of something to quickly gain his sympathy."
Raole thought in his mind.
"Say Im not from this town so Im not really familiar with it, if its not much trouble, do you think you can help me find an inn to relax for a bit? I've been walking for a while and I'm kind of tired."
Raole said maintaing his smile and friendly expression to Falaos.
Fionn turns to Mira kind of surprised and embarrased at the same time as he eats something in the kitchen, he places the plate down and dusts off his vest a bit, "H-hi Mira, Good morning!" He answers to her.
"Oh, heh, yeah, thanks, i was in a hurry to get to Vile Root in search of some adventure but i guess i worked my self a bit too hard huh?" The tiger answers.
Wisp glanced over as Falaos brought Raole in. He shuffled his wings nervously, all but hiding behind his plate of food. He was aready surrounded by so many unfamiliar people; adding yet another just made the poor dragon all the more unsure of things.
"I um, I just saw that the cook was very busy and um, i wanted to help clean up a little! And the cook "gave" me some breakfast in exchange.." He says slightly nervously, playing with his fingers.
The tiger rubs his eyes a little, clearly still somewhat tired, he then turns to the cat anthro, "Oh, sure, the more the merrier right, though, don't worry too much about me, i can defend myself pretty well." He answers, winking at the cat.
"Uhuh..." Mira said doubtfully. "Hey, whatever floats your boat right now, but I do want to talk to you later." Her face suddenly grew sadder. "About... Things." She returned to her smile and left with a wave.
Fionn tilts his head at Mira's comment, he wraps his leftovers in a piece of cloth and heads outside of the kitchen thanking the cook for the meal, he catches up to mira, "Mira, are you allright? Is something bothering you?" He asks with clear concern in his face.
The tiger nods and starts walking, "Name's Xil Tigris by the way, its possible you may have heard of my amazing feats here and there." He says with a smug smile.
The woman stood staring in tears. The weight of what she saw pulling her down. Her family home... Nothing but charred remains.
Suddenly she ran forwards at a full sprint. "Mom! Dad!" she yelled to the empty air as she reached the ash and cinders. She searched wildly through the still-hot black dust and found a body. She pulled it up.
The corpse was a gruesome sight. It was burned beyond recognition. But worse than that... It was headless. She could tell only by the locket beside where the corpse was that this was her grandmother. She hugged the corpse tightly as tears continued to stream down her face.
After an endless embrace she picked up the locket and hung it around her neck, digging for more bodies in the mess of ashes. She found a few more, all headless, before she gave up. Rising up to her feet and walking away from the burned mansion, she was stopped.
"Listen, you can't be here," said the firefighter who had stopped her. "C'mon, here... I'm sorry," he said, and gently put an arm around her to lead her out of the ruins. "Just come this way."
As the firefighter led the woman out, another put her head down with a bitten off curse. "Only two survivors," she muttered. "Better than one..."
The other survivor, a younger girl, sat sobbing in the arms of a third firefighter, out of the way of the group of them putting out the small blazes remaining on the grass of the devasted estate. "I'm so sorry, Etty," said the firefighter holding her, giving the girl a comforting squeeze.
Illadoce walked out from his house near the Vile Root woods. He was wearing nothing but an apron for blacksmithing, a sleeveless shirt and loose shorts. He was planning on using his forge to craft something, but first, he went towards the inn and looked around. He turned his gaze to Dark, and approached him with an embarrassed expression, holding something behind his back. His tail almost lifelessly slumped over to the ground, as he looked at Dark.
"Hey there, uh, Dark. Do you know where Fionn is right now?" He asked, tapping his paw impatiently.
"Just one girl," said the firefighter grimly, leading the woman there. "Would... you know her? Etty? Such a sweethearted kid. Can't think of a single person in town who'd ever wish something like this on her..."
As the frefighter trailed off, he finished leading the woman to the back of the wagon wherein Etty sat crying. The other firefighter with her frowned sadly up at the two new arrivals and petted Etty's hair soothingly.
Illadoce lowered his ears in shame, looking away from the elemental. He growled weakly, and walked off, continuing to look for either Fionn or someone to ask about him.
Lo and behold, he eventually encountered the wolf. He cleared his throat and approached him, his ears still low in shame. "Hey, F-Fionn. Do you have a moment to talk?" He asked, stuttering like the fool he is.
"You, to be honest," Mira replied, "and more specifically your past.
"Oh..." is all Lu could say in response before she went silent in tears again. After several moments of their embrace, she let go. "Etty... We have to find somewhere else now," she said, trying to assume a mature role to be able to take care of her younger sister.
"Oh? A group? I thought you have left the mob or something? And I noticed that the fox I met and brought me here, Falaos knows you, is he a friend of yours too?" Raole asked seemingly curious about Max speaking of a group.
Fionn looks towards the voice and upon seeing who it comes from you could see the fear in his face, he starts shaking and attempts to grab Mira's hand and takes a step back, clearly too scared to even talk.
"Maybe, but ive been pretty much everywhere and where i havent gone, they should have heard of me." The tiger adds as they keep walking to Vile Root.
Mira subconsciously took this as a cue to stand guard and protect the wolf. Seeming as unchanged as she could, she placed herself between Aodhfionn and Illadoce. She smiled at the Hellspawn and asked, "Hey there, is there something you need?"
"Yes, like pa always said," Lu replied quietly. She picked her sister up, and looked at the firefighters. "Thank you her keeping her safe. We'll be going now," she said. She then walked off, rubbing Etty's back soothingly.
"Wow, thats great, sounds like you've managed to find a group where you feel good, say, I was actually just passing by this town travelling alone and now that I've come across you and your group, I hope it wouldn't be too much of a trouble if I could join you just like in the old days. Besides, that would be another friend you would have with you." Raole said with a sly smile on his face.
"I just hope that nobody else in your group minds, I would love to meet and introduce myself to them all."
(Also wow this is a peak of activity since last night :O)
Hugh stepped into the light, letting Wisp go to his table while he took a different direction, and headed to an empty table as well. He was quite lost in thought, staring at his locket while he started cleaning the dial.
Illadoce revealed a small red lily from his back, holding it up in front of Fionn, his head facing down while his eyes were closed. His arms and claws trembled while his ears were turned back, stuttering and softly speaking.
"I hope you can forgive me. I'm sure you won't, but I just want to let you know that I feel bad about what happened, and I'm so sorry." He said, preparing for something that would harm him, physically and/or mentally.
Fionn would seem surprised and would stare for a moment at the flower trying to sort out the situation in his mind, after a few moments he takes a deep breath relaxing up a bit, he takes the flower, "I-its allright, i understand, you were upset a-and I, I wasnt really helping, I-Im sorry for having annoyed you so much, I was just worried and wanted to help, even if you didnt need my help.." He adds, looking at the flower.
"I mean, w-well what you did was.. not very.. um, pleasant... B-but im fine! Look!" He shows Illadoce his right hand where he was stung, there would be a small circular scar at the base of his thumb, "S-see? It already healed.. So, dont be sad, ok?" the wolf finishes, smiling gently at him.
Illadoce looked up, and once he did, he was filled with relief and joy. He even shed a tear, smiling at the wolf. "Thank you... I'm glad you're okay." He said, letting his tail drop to the ground. He cleared his throat and started to blush, flustered, while lowering his ears again.
"Ahem... well, I-I'm going back to the forge. Once we're heading out, tell me, a'ight? My forge is at town's edge, not hard to miss."
He smiled again, and walked off, waving weakly. After he passed through the inn door, he jumped in glee and ran back to his home.
Fionn smiles, he tucks the flower's stem in one of the pockets of his vest, the flower itself showing clearly, "Im glad it was all just a misunderstanding after all, i knew he wasnt bad." He says, sighing with relief afterwards.
(Oh snap it has pockets???!
Lol i bet fionn will look even more like some kind of waiter/butler with that flower in his pocket xD)
"Really? How about, The Golden Hunter, ever heard of him?" Xil asks to Firaas and Jack.
Mira smiled. "I guess that went well," she said. "Hey, I'm going to go walk around the town a little before we leave. Don't let anyone roll out without me, alright?" With that, the cat left the inn and walked back to the post office she had found the night before.
She slipped in, talked to the man at the desk, and bought some materials to send a letter. She spent several minutes writing the letter, then placed it in an envelope, addressed it, and signed it off. The man took the letter with a smile and placed in in the bag of outgoing mail.
The cat left the post office after thanking the man, and started wandering about the town aimlessly. While wandering, she bumped into the dark figure who had ridden past Xil. When looking into their eyes for a brief moment she felt nothing but bad omens. She hurried away as fast as she could.
The figure made note of this cat-girl. They were making note of anyone who fit Sir John's description of the group they were now hunting. Obviously most notes would be eventually discarded, but as it was now, they had to consider everything.
Hmm, well, now you know about me, heh, well, thanks for the help, very much appreciated, guess we part ways now, there's something i need to go look for, heh, maybe if you have some luck we will meet again~" Xil says, waving as he turns around and starts walking around Vile Root.
"Now, where to look first?..." He says to himself as he wanders around.
Mira sat on the edge of a fountain, and looked around at her surroundings. She saw Xil as he walked by her, and despite knowing she shouldn't stare, she did. She made no attempt to hide her gawking either.
Having a huge ego and being a good hunter who keeps aware of his surroundings, it'd be nearly impossible for Xil not to notice Mira, he walks over to the fountain pretending not to see Mira for a moment, he cups his hands and grabs some water and splashes his face with it, shaking off the excess shortly after.
He puts one of his hands on his wrist and places the other over his face to cover the sun as he very obviously looks around, trying to get mira to ask if he needs directions.
Hugh felt his stomach growl silently, and licked his lips as the scent of food tickled his nose. "Maybe I should have a little breakfast first~" He blushed at this thought, gazed upon the tavern, and decided to get food.
"I'm Mira Taer," the smaller anthro said, her tail's swishing betraying her excitement. She started walking towards the inn. "So... If I may be so bold as to ask, what brings you to this town?" she asked, a slight purr in her tone.
"Oh, I- Uh..." Mira stammered. "Well, my group and I are doing some adventuring ourselves," she eventually said. "Do you have a group at all? Looking at you I imagine you don't need one, but do you have one?"
Mira fidgeted with her hands, trying to contain herself. "Well... If you want to try being in a group... I'm sure you would be welcome with us," she said, not hiding her hopeful look very well. "Oh, we're here." The smaller cat opened the door to the inn, and held it for Xil.
Mira giggled quietly and walked into the inn. "Well, we let pretty much anyone in. We've got a lot of variety too. There's a dragon, a couple wolves, a fox, and a rabbit... A bunch of humans too," she said, pointing at those that were in clear sight.
After tracking the group from the other inn, he came to the inn they were in. He saw Xil. "Damn..... he can qualify for the second buffest guy I know....." He thought as he looked at Xil "Hey guys, who's the big dude??"
Fionn looks at Mira and Xil, he blushes a bit at the sight but quickly shakes it off, "Welcome back Mira!" He adds.
Xil would look surprised for a moment, "Huh, thats a lot of people you have in your group.."
He stands as everyone gawks at him, he places his hands on his hips clearly displaying himself, "Well, i guess ill take you up on that if its cool with everyone if i stick around, it'd be nice to travel with people for a change." He says with a sligthly mischievous smile but more clearly basking in the spotlight.
May looks at the tiger and cat who had just walked in.
"Hey, who are these dweebs?" May said, incredibly sarcastically to no one in particular. She quickly takes it back, holding out her hand to be shaken by Mira and Xil. "Name's Mayotte, please call me May."
Xil crosses his arms instead of giving her his hand, "Name's Xil Tigris." He answers very rudely, he keeps looking around, "What's wrong with that one, is he choking or something?" He says pointing at Max.
"Well... my day so far is that Christa broke up with me, and that was quite sad, and then it got a little bit better until I saw that tiger over there who i may or may not find attractive okay don't judge and i think i got his attention by being awkward like i usually am with dates and im kinda freaking out right now help", Max explained to Sub.
Hugh's hunger simply vanished the instant Mira opened the door to bring a large, muscular tiger anthro, who seemed pretty megalomaniac, too. But despite the obvious jealousy that made the rabbit's white cheek fur blush, there was another feeling that made him lost pretty much all joy he had this morning. Something unexplainable, that he was used to see the signs of.
A bad pressentiment for gods know why, but Hugh knew he could always trust his instincts. But Mira's presence was troubling him so much, that he suddenly got up and exited by the back tavern's door, the one Wisp had gone through because it was of a larger frame. The rabbit didn't even glance at the Mystery Elemental, and closed the door behind him without trying to get the attention.
"Yeah. Now that you're gonna get a weapon, we'll have another person to help when those things try to kill us." Dark says. He looks forward. "Looks like we're almost there" he says, seeing the shop the monks had told him about
Wisp looked over and hunched in on himself a little bit as Xil came in with Mira, intimidated by the powerful-looking stranger. He opted to stay quiet and finish the last of his breakfast instead of joining in on any the conversations around him.
The dragon cleared his plate not too long after, then got up to bring it back so a waitress wouldn't have to be bothered with it. In standing, he highlighted the one thing he had on Xil: over a foot of height advantage. Not that he wanted to cut such an obvious figure, mind -- in fact, he hunched his shoulders and tucked his wings in to try make his size less obvious.
Hugh was leaning against the wall made of rocks, enjoying the sweet coldness of it as the morning sun didn't have time to heat the stone yet. Standing near the door, but far enough from it to not be able to hear or see the inside of the inn, he was facing the sky with his eyes closed, his chest raising and dropping short and quickly, as if the rabbit was out of breath.
Fionn peeks out and looks at Hugh, "H-Hugh? Are you allright?" the wolf asks with a worried expression.
Xil looks over at the towering tall dragon for a moment as he appears suddenly out in the crowd, he stares for a moment at the dragon long enough for him to notice, he'd quickly shrug it off and go seat a nearby table, inviting Mira to come along as he orders some food, "Waitress, bring me two plates of whatever two foods you reccomend and something for the lady here, anything she asks."
(Well i was most definetly not sleeping thus i wouldnt have minded that it took you a bit to answer. C:
Hugh's cheeks were still flushing pure red, contrasting with his now completely white fur due to the season. "N... Yes?" he said, gasping a little for the cold air as he managed to slow down his breath and heart. He pushed himself off the wall and turned to Fionn, and stared at him directly with a fake, yet convincing smile. "I-I'm doing good, thank you... Good morning, Fionn." he chuckled softly as to blow every of the wolf's questions away. "Hehe, I guess you slept well~?"
Hugh admires it with wide eyes, moving closer to hold it open between the two anthros. "Wow, it's already gone! I mean, you've still gotten a pretty bad scar, but I'm really amazed, Fionn !" he looked up at the wolf and let his paw go free, smiling wide. "What would you like to know, exactly?" he asked nicely, before adding : "I was there the whole time, so..."
Feeling eyes on his back like that made Wisp nervous and uncomfortable. As soon as he left his plate with the kitchen staff to be dealt with, he hastily made his way back up to his room to pack his things back up and hide out away from everyone for a while.
"Basically, you were completely paralyzed, everyone panicked, Dark and Max the most, and would have killed Illadoce if no one had said to calm down. We carried you back to the library..." Hugh explained, marking a pause in his speech.
"But the monks told us that this venom, although very venomous, wouldn't kill... you. You apparently needed more rest and safety than immediate healing from us, and so we carried you to this inn, and there you are!" The rabbit concluded with a smile, taking care to not speak about what he had done personally for the anthro wolf.
"Oh.." He says, looking down as he processes the information.
"S-so that venom could have...? D-does that mean i r-really do have those uhm, abilities?.." He wonders for a moment.
"B-but well, im fine now! Thats what matters r-right?
Um, and im really thankful to you and your friends, I.. You guys really didn't have to help me, specially after i caused all that trouble..
And im glad no one harmed um.. Illadoce you said his name was?.. He actually didn't mean to harm me, he came by today! He apologized! Look, he gave me this.." He says pointing to a small red lily flower on his vest's pocket, "S-see? He didn't mean to.." The wolf says, clearly trying to convince Hugh and himself that Illadoce isn't bad or scary.
Fionn looks at Hugh with shock on his face, "B-but he didn't!" He yells, quickly blushing upon realizing.
"S-sorry.. I didn't mean to yell.." He looks down, lowering his ears.
"Y-youre right though.. The singing was your idea, but i didn't have to do it, its not like you twisted my tail so i'd do it.. My actions were my own and so were the concequences, he only stung me because I got close to him, in spite of everything.."
Hugh's ears flattened on his back, as he stared at the wolf's teeth. "Y-yeah you may be right..." he said, embarrassed. "It's our fault to us three I guess, then... But anyway!" The rabbit continued. "Someone told me the past should stay where it belongs, and it's not in the present." He concluded with a softer smile, yet still worrying about everyone else's problems.
"Right.." He says clearly pondering still a bit about the past, he suddenly looks up as if realizing something and turns straight at Hugh, "Oh hey talking about the past, I never got to see if i could heal your shoulder! Is it still hurting?" He asks.
Hugh instinctively drew his left paw on his opposite shoulder, feeling the bare wound under his clothes. "Mh~ Quite... but I cleaned everything this morning, and couldn't find a new bandage... It's only a bruise now, but I should keep it from moving for a bit more..." he explained to Fionn, looking at his own shoulder.
"Ah, right, glad youre feeling better then, i do suppose its for the best considering what the paper said..." Fionn adds with a bit of a worried look appearing on his face.
"A-anyway say, i never did get to hear why exactly you are all traveling together like so, it doesn't seem like everyone gets along very well considering, well.. Last night.." he adds, trying to change the subject.
("Can i poke you with some needles and heal that?"
Silly fionn, thats not much of a better subject to discuss xD)
Fionn tilts his head slightly at the mention of a locket, not understanding what that has to do with anything, he then blushes intensely from shame upon Hugh mentioning robbers, "O-oh? H-he is a t-theif?" He asks nervously.
"Atta girl, cant start a day on the right foot with an empty stomach", He says, winking at Mira.
"So, whats the deal with this group of yours, you guys been traveling long or somethin'?" He asks as they wait for their orders to arrive.
"Hm... A month or so, I'd say. We just sort of met up and went with no discussion as to why. It was pretty spontaneous. I just mailed a letter back to my town this morning to explain my absence," Mira explained. "How about you? What's your story?"
(Hey, Jaz, could you control the blacksmith that Dark and Momo are at currently? I would but since it's the one the Monks told Dark about and gave him the coin I assume it's like special and so you'd want to control it and shiz)
"I have a bad feeling about him..." Hugh muttered under his breath as they quickly passed through the door. The rabbit picked up his vest, left on a chair, before following the wolf upstairs with an even angrier look as he spotted Mira's back, who was sitting in front of the tiger.
"That's the only thing I am sure of..." he trailed off, looking over his shoulder and giving Fionn the keys.
"Well, the Monks sent me here saying you could make me really walk again." Dark says, walking up to the counter. "They also gave me this coin" he adds, pulling out the coin the Monk had put in his pocket.
"Hrm..." The man said, taking a detailed look at the coin. "Make you walk, eh? Alright, Sit down in that chair over there while I get some things." He left and went into a back room where loud banging and crashing noises were heard from for some time as he looked for those things.
Fionn takes the keys, he continues walking along with Hugh, he stands in front of the door holding up the keys and sort of just stares at the doorknob for a moment, he turns to Hugh looking very nervous, "H-hugh.. I.. It seems that this locket is very important to you and.. I dont think I deserve your trust with something so important.." he says, nervously playing with the key.
"Well, what can I say? Pretty much been on my own since forever so I've done some traveling and stuff, I've taken down a few lowlifes here and there, heh, got a few 'gifts' from those encounters as you can see but I don't really mind it, only shows that scum that I ain't someone to mess around with, y'know?" Xil says, showing off some of his scars.
Hugh started laughing softly. "Fionnnn...! If you are going to stick around with us, you will see it so many times you will stop minding after a few days, it really isn't a big deal at all, I just want to satisfy a friend's curiousity here." He chuckled, smiling at the wolf. "Please, open the door..." he asked as softly as he could, holding his golden watch inside his pocket.
Dark looks at Momo, giving her a slightly nervous smile. It was evident that he was a bit anxious, hoping the blackmsith would be able to help him walk again, but having doubts as to whether they would actually be able to do so, worrying that he may have to use crutches for the rest of his life.
In a split second, Hugh looked scared and surprised, but then came back to a calmer expression, yet letting his locket go and taking his paws off his pockets. "Y-you used to be a thief? How in the world can someone as nice as you can become a thief?" He asked out of curiousity, keeping himself polite and nice with his friend.
I hope so... Dark thought back. You think maybe he'll put a sword on it? he added, attempting to calm his anxiousness with a joke and referencing the conversation they had the day before about the prosthetic.
Ever since I remember my parents thaught me how to steal, its what they did for a living..
I haven't stolen again ever since i moved with um, Uncle Ru, I've learned just how wrong what i did was but it doesn't change the fact that i did it and that.. Im never gonna be anything more than a petty criminal.."
Hugh suddenly pushed Fionn. But surprisingly, it would be far softer than he would have thought. Also it wasn't just a push, as Hugh only pressed his paw on his shoulder to make him move aside. Hugh swiftly took the keys off Fionn's paws, and unlocked the door.
The rabbit immediately pulled the wolf inside and closed the door behind him. "Past is passed, Fionn, I will show you. Sit somewhere comfy," Hugh added, drawing the curtains to turn the room into a darker light. "Everyone changes..." Hugh whispered.
Well, why not ask the blacksmith to add some features later? Hopefully, he wouldn't mind? Momo thought, as she carried two swords: a katzbalger and a backsword. She placed the backsword sword back, thinking that it wasn't sharp enough.
Hugh smiled, even if it'd be imperceptible for Fionn. He carefully pulled his golden watch by the chain, lifting it in front of the wolf. The morning light would occasionally make the gold shine, but never for longer than a split second. The dial was still hidden from sight, and Hugh let Fionn admire the work on the surface of his locket for a bit. "It's probably... Hundred years old... Dad never told me who gave it to my grandfather, maybe his own father, who knows..." he trailed off, the rabbit's voice deepening at the sight of it.
"Ooh! That's so cool," Mira said, leaning in closer. She was VERY clearly enthralled.
The blacksmith came out of the backroom with a bucket full of parts. His hair was frizzing up comically, and had a wrench stuck in it. "Okay, I need to get some measurements of ya. Boot off and stand up," he said to Dark, "take your time. Don't want you falling over. That's my job."
The blacksmith rushed forwards and started taking some measurements. Some seemed very odd, like torso and arm length, but he looked like he knew what he was doing... sort of... so it would be best not to stop him. Once he was done taking the measurements, he wrote all of them down from memory, and then stood up.
"Okay, come back in two hours and this'll be all done," he said with a big grin on his face.
"It's a katzbalger sword and a backsword," she replied. She looked at the swords. "I see the size differences of the two swords as an advantage for both-range hits, and it's both pretty sharp," she continued.
