Elemental Inheritance Template
Notes to follow when you are making your application
Element must be available
Name cannot be silly. A pun can be excused, but "Zoosmell Pooplord" just isn't going to fly.
Race must be applicable
Mind: Human, Sheep
No young children or elders
Must be between 18 and 50, give or take depending on race.
Sex and gender must be realistic
Keep to male/female for the sex, and generally accepted terms for the gender.
If you would like clarification on what is "generally accepted", speak to someone in chat.
A picture would be lovely for the appearance section, but is not mandatory. Description is king.
Personality must be in five traits.
List and then explain how each of the traits fit.
No synonyms. You can't get away with "nice, kind, friendly"
Two strengths and three flaws are MINIMUMS.
Add as many as are applicable, but please keep a general balance between the two.
Strengths should be skills, or something they have physical prowess in that is not guaranteed by their race.
Flaws should be a mix of physical weaknesses, mental weaknesses, social weaknesses, et cetera.
List family both alive and dead, out a couple generations.
You don't need to give a whole detailed family tree and history, but we should have some idea of their setup in life.
For the backstory, realism and research are mandatory.
If the character does not or cannot fit the lore of the story they will not be accepted under any circumstances.
In the Elemental Inheritance application...
You must include enough of a family tree to prove that the character is possibly related to the Element you seek.
You must provide an explanation as to why the Element would choose your character.
All Elements will be more likely to choose someone who is a part of the group rather than someone in another area. They want the plot to work out as much as we do.
Mind prefers hosts to be as young as possible.
Mages cannot become Elementals.
Keep in mind that this form is shorter, but you should be aiming to have a lot of solid and logical explanation in it.It's easy to make a character fit the bill, but making the bill fit a character takes some doing.
Hugh let out a very faint whine and a groan, followed by a few chuckles. He let the wolf step aside before getting on his elbows and rub his head. "O... Ow, haha~" He said calmly, getting up. "I'm okay... Might be a little dirty though..."
Fionn would instantly offer his paw to help Hugh get up. As Hugh would get up Fionn would help dust off some of the dirt from Hugh's clothes as he begins to speak gently. "Ah, should I clean your clothes as soon as we get to an inn?" He asks with a somewhat neutral expression bordering on shy.
Hugh smiled gently and rubbed his eye, dusting himself off a bit. "Mmhmm, it might be a good idea, though we would need to get to it quick if we don't want my clothes to still be wet when we will go back to the carriage." He answered, patting Scarlet's head.
Fionn looks at Scarlet ~Its allright, I'm just glad youre fine, I was getting worried when I didnt see you get to where I was.~ He says to Scarlet, he looks back at Hugh and starts walking behind Hugh, doing a slight motion with his hand to indicate Scarlet to come with. "Its allright.. I can do it on my own and I promise I'll do a good job.. Besides, um, Excuse me if im being meddlesome but, if your shoulder is hurting then perhaps it would be best you rest up.." He says, to Hugh somewhat shyly.
Hugh's gaze had already wandered off to the end of the street after only a few steps, and the rabbit needed to blink a few times to look at Fionn. "Ah, it's just a light pain, it's not even pain actually, just a little discomfort. It will go away soon, but if you want to stop it now..." He stopped walking and talking at the same time, turning his left shoulder to the wolf, and looking at Scarlet with a smile.
"Oh! Um, right! I forgot about that... Give me a moment please." Fionn says, he'd stop for a moment, take a breath and closing his eyes trying to concentrate "Just do what you did before.." He thinks, nothing would feel different at all and Hugh wouldnt feel a little bit better, Fionn frowning slightly as he continues to try to focus "Hurry up.. you have to heal him now." He thinks to himself once more, his expression clearly growing a bit more distressed as nothing seems to happen.
Xil would look at Mira as she pouts, he opens his snout as if to defend himself but stops before even making a sound past taking a breath. He'd simply look at the two for a moment before frowning. "Fine, whatever, I'll go away, its not like you need my help watching that kid when you've got the one legged nanny expert here." He says in a resentful tone before walking away back into the tavern, he'd entirely ignore Mira or Dark if they were to call out to him as he walks away and would simply enter the tavern and sit by himself, continuing to drink alone.
(okay so did Dark or Xil actually guess Mira was half drunk? xD)
Despite not feeling anything at all, Hugh notices Fionn's distress and moves his shoulder away. He made a couple circles with his arm and sighed in a fake relief. "Aaah, that's alright now, thank you Fionn... y..." The nickname mistakenly escaped his lips, and his cheeks turned with a soft pink colour.
Fionn would open his eyes as Hugh speaks "B-bu-..." He'd mutter with a concerned expression. He'd simply look at Hugh for a moment and nod faking a smile and would continue to follow Hugh quietly, apparently paying no mind to the nickname as if he hadn't heard it.
(Well Xil didnt, Dark had previously insinuated to Xil that he could easily get Mira to side with him and thats what it looks like to Xil right now, thats why he walked away like that.
Also btw, Hugh is offering to help Fionn clean Hugh's clothes but well, if they'd be cleaning Hugh's clothes what would Hugh be wearing? :p)
(it can last the time of a long bath~ also, underwear or towel, I guess)
Hugh was as convincing as he could, patting Fionn's shoulder as they started walking again. "I told you I was barely feeling it, no wonder you can't feel it much either! I feel you are worried, Fionn." He told him quietly.
"Okay good," Zoe says, relieved that she didn't contract some deadly illness from the teleportation. She never read that far into Mystery when she was required to learn about the Elements for the Swordsmen. "How far are you able to teleport, luv?"
"Well, I certainly didn't expect him to walk off like that," Dark says, watching Xil walk to thee tavern and when he went inside remained fixated on the door. "Guess it's just us two now."
"Depends on how familiar I am with an area," June replied. "I could teleport clear across a forest if I knew it well enough, but in a town like this, up a story is about the best I can do if I can't see where I'm going."
"Wait! Xilll!" Mira called, chasing after the tiger. She stumbled over her steps, and spilled her drink on the fresh snow, but eventually made it into the tavern. She entered, and made her way, as stably as she could (which wasn't very) to the table Xil was sitting at.
Xil would look at Mira aa she comes inside and sits down. "What are ya doin here? Ain.. Are.. Uhh.. Shouldn you be outside with that guy?" He says having some troubles with his words as he gulps down a good portion of his third drink.
Hugh nodded quietly to the Life Elemental. He kept silent but his nod was enough to answer him. The three kept walking towards the inn, away from the tavern where Fionn was standing near to before, and reaching to Zeeb's town center.
Fionn would quietly follow Hugh towards the inn/Tavern forcing a neutral expression as he does.
Xil would look at Mira clearly somewhat confused "What? But uh, I thoghht you were uhh, angry? He ssaid... He ssaid... That thing.... Y'nkow?.." he says sloppily as he puts down his almost empty drink.
(Hmm I dont think thats right para, i think jaz meant that basically there's only one place they can spend the night in and it is the only tavern in the village, which in this village also doubles as an inn.)
Fionn would look back at Hugh confused. "N-no I just.. Uncle Ru taught me not to make faces b-because it bothers people.." He says shyly as he tries to retain a neutral expression.
(Ah damn x) I thought there would be a couple taverns/bars/cafes, but only one inn that happens to be over a tavern. Should we edit our previous replies?)
"It might bother people you don't know, but when you're with your friends it's quite better to not hide your emotions behind a blank face..." Hugh answered, his ears lowering down on his back. "Really, I'd feel more secure if I was sure none of my friends would hide secrets from me..." He sighed softly and chuckled. "And from my past experiences, secrets tend to be revealed over time."
Fionn would stop for a moment, confusion all over his face as he tries to make sense of it. "i don't understand.. Im sorry, its just that, my parents had taught me one thing and then uncle ru told me that was wrong and taught me another, and now youre telling me something different. How do I know which one is really right?.." He asks to the rabbit.
Xil would finish off his drink and wave at the bartender for another before continuing. "Sso, I was jus walkin around, I think i was uhh, like 12 or somethin, dunno, 'n I saw a bunch of humans pushin some anthro so I just freakin started beatin those fuckkers up 'n this jerk jus like pulls out a friggin sword 'n just like.." He makes some sloppy cutting motions with his hands, "He jus stabbed me in the friggin face but I didin' even care and they jus friggin got scared or ssomethin 'n then the other guy checked my face 'n stuff as thanks for savin him." He says proudly, grabbing his new drink and just gulping down half of it in one go.
Hugh gave Fionn the same confused look. "What? O... Oh, well..." He said shortly after, taking back his words. "I guess the education we had is different... Not bad, mind you! Just... Different."
He looked right in front of him and was already seeing the square place. "We're all different, that's why I believe that even if it's hard, our hearts should beat the same way, speak the same language of truth and peace."
He looked back at the wolf. "It's almost as if you were lying to yourself and to others when you hide your emotions... You know?"
Zoe would ignore the tinglyness after hearing June's question. "Why yes, luv, I did," Zoe says, joining June at the edge and looking around for the two and only seeing Dark. "Maybe Connor can explain the lack of either of them," Zoe states in a slightly angry tone. She jumps off the roof at the lowest part onto the snow covered ground. Once June was down she'd begin walking toward Dark.
Fionn would look down for a moment as he thinks about it, he'd nod and continue following Hugh to the tavern.
Xil would lean forward, instinctively placing one of his arms on the table to avoid doing a faceplant "Hey... Y'wanna touch it?" He says as he tries to remain steady while leaning towards Mira, failing to notice Zoe at all.
Xil would react as Zoe slams the table lifting his arms in an attempt of a defense position as is natural to him and winds up instead slamming his face against the table as he lefts up the arm that was supporting his body as he was leaning forward. "Ow! My face.." He says as he sits back, rubbing his nose as he does.
Xil looks at Zoe "Well I dunno uhh, last time I checked she was 'n fire righ? 'n then, the leg came 'n I wass likke pff 'n I left so uhh then I told 'er bout my face 'n how awesome I am, cuss like, som time ago I..." He'd continue rambling like an idiot about himself, getting harder to tell what he even says as he goes on.
Fionn would continue following Hugh quietly, he'd look towards June from the corner of his eye simply to see who Hugh was waving at but would keep his head down as he follows.
"Alright, let's get you cleaned up a bit, shall we? You got pine sap in your hair," June said. She reached into her bag and rooted around for a while, eventually fishing out a comb and a handkerchief. When she looked up, she noticed Hugh, and waved back.
"I didn't know you had a sister," Mira said, her words interrupted every so often by giggles.
"Listen," Mira said, attempting to put her hand on Zoe's shoulder, and missing entirely, resulting in her slapping the table. "If ya put Sarah with a couple a' people who dun' wanna take care a' her when ya wanna go runnin' around with some'un that's yer own fault."
"Alright. Into the tavern we go, then," June said, and walked with Sarah in there. She lifted the little girl up onto one of the barstools, and called the bartender over. "I need your highest concentration drink. The girl got sap in her hair."
The bartender disappeared briefly, and came back with a bottle full of clear liquid. "Riemerian Wine," he said, pouring a shotglass for her. "Almost pure alcohol."
"Wonderful," June replied, taking her handkerchief, and dipping it in. she began carefully removing the sap from Sarah's hair with the very strong drink.
"Yehhh ya telll 'er!" Xil says cheering on Mira, as he does he would raise his glass to take a drink and as he does would spill a hearthy amount of it on himself "Uhh whoops, guess I need 'nother Heh" He says clumsily spilling a few drops more on the table as he turns it upside down to show its empty "Ey! Bring me 'nother!" He says loudly to the bartender.
Sarah sits there gleefully. She spots Zoe yelling at Mira and Xil. She raises her hand and waves to her. "Elllllloooooooo Zoe!"
Zoe rolls her eyes. "I don't expect you to take care of her. Sarah can do that herself. You, luv, are just a familiar face that she'll see and go toward after she's done playing," Zoe says. "Otherwise the dear will just go off with some stranger."She then takes her hands off the table and looks toward the bar to see Sarah. She waves back.
Sarah giggles upon seeing the return wave.
Dark stands up from the bench. "Looks like everyone's heading to the tavern," he states to himself, then starts dizzily walking toward it.
"A-ah! yes! Right behind you!" Fionn says a bit surprised as Hugh starts to run, running at a similar pace and making sure to keep close to Hugh.
"Then why dun' you jusst like.. Put yer face over there next to 'er if thats all she needs?" Xil responds with a face as if saying 'Jeez thats so obvious' and would look at Mira as if looking for approval.
Hugh also spotted Dark, walking to the tavern. "Oh wow, looks like everyone's heading to the tavern", he thought, and passed next to him. "Oh hey Dark! How's going?" He asked the Death Elemental with a joyful smile, stopping a bit. "You're going to the tavern too?"
Zoe sighs. "Yeh know what? I'm not gonna deal with this right now. I'll talk to you chaps tomorrow," Zoe says. She leaves the table and walks toward the bar where June and Sarah were. "Ello luvs," Zoe greets.
"Ellllloooo Zoe!" Sarah greets back.
"Yep. Seems like that's where everyone else is going, so why not?" Dark says, stumbling a bit as he stops to talk to Hugh. He wasn't full on drunk, just tipsy.
Fionn would stop right behind Hugh and simply look as he talks to Dark. As Dark seems to have difficulty walking Fionn would seem somewhat worried "Forgive me for interrupting but, um, are you allright?" He says to Dark.
"Pshhh" Xil lets out as zoe walks away, he looks to the bartender as they somewhat begrudgingly give Xil another drink. Xil takes the drink and looks at Mira "Sso uh.. Hwat were we doin'?" He asks looking heavily drunk now.
Hugh's nostrils flared a little as he got close to the wine. He wasn't much aware of the pleasures of alcohol, yet he knew what it was about. "I can smell that alright, and you're handling it pretty well?" He asked him as well, turning his shoulders towards the tavern as to invite the two Elementals to follow him there.
"Yeahhh" Xil says proudly, he takes a chug of his drink spilling some more on himself before talking agian "We sshhoud go ssomwher more ffun, thhiss place iss all fulll o'.. em.." He says vaguely pointing at Zoe, Sarah and June with an annoyed expression.
"It's scary what happened to your leg, really..." Hugh replied, pushing on the tavern's door to swing it open for Dark and Fionn to enter first. He had given a glance to Dark's leg and frowned sadly, rememberinghow he had to make Dark and Mira both disappear in the ring last time.
"Oh?.. Ah!" Fionn lets out as he realizes Hugh is holding the door for him and does the tiniest of nervous jumps which boosts him to walk through the doorway, standing next to it as he waits for Hugh to come in.
"Huh? Oh eyy we leavin' already? Hehe" Xil says, he'd clumsily get up and follow Mira, making sure not to leave his drink behind. As he walks over to the stairs he'd throw the silliest of looks at Zoe and June and childishly stick out his tounge before walking into the wall next to the stairs "uhhh eehh who put thhat 'ere??" He says in an annoyed tone before continuing up the stairs.
Hugh just got the time to glance towards the other end of the tavern's ground floor, to see Xil's frame and someone before him disappear through the staircase. His cheeks flushed with a bit of annoyance as the scent of alcohol hit him more than ever, yet he still remained calm and closed the door behind Fionn and Scarlet, who was following close. He followed Fionn and Dark into the tavern, looking left and right as to know where to go now. "Okay so... I'm going to find June, I guess. What would you guys do?"
"Oh, um, I suppose I should ask the owners if they have a washboard, washtub and soap I could borrow.." Fionn answers, he'd look at Dark, "Oh! Um, is there perhaps anything you'd like me to wash for you as well, Dark?" He adds.
"Oh, uh, sure! If you could wash my coat that'd be cool," Dark says, taking off his coat and holding it out to Fionn. Once Fionn grabs hold of it he'd turn to Hugh. "I'll probably find Zoe and maybe get another glass of wine."
Hugh nodded to Fionn. "Oh yes, I shall take a room with you tonight again and we will clean my vest together if you want, now if you may excuse me..." He said softly, then turning to Dark :"Yes! Let's go see the girls together, Dark." stepping to the side and getting to June, Sarah and Zoe, smiling at them three. "Hello!"
Fionn nods gently. He throws Dark's coat over his left shoulder and continues to walk to the bar, "Excuse me, I was wondering if I could borrow a washtub and washboard, and perhaps some soap to wash some clothes?" He asks the bartender, the bartender would point Fionn towards the back, "Ah, thank you very much, I'll go see first if any of my companions needs anything washed too." He adds, bowing slightly as he thanks the bartender and then turning around and having a look. He notices Zoe and June to be somewhat busy speaking with eachother so instead he'd go towards Sub who seems to be alone as he eats some dinner, "Um, Hi, sorry to bother you, I'm just gonna wash some clothes and I was wondering if perhaps you need anything washed?" He asks.
"Well, I don't have spare clothes but I would be happy if I had outfit washed. Maybe later when I find some spares." He said, as he looked at Fionn. He noticed the button, he recalled it from somewhere but he wanted to clarify. "Wait... What is that?" He pointed while staring at it.
Fionn nods as Sub tells him about the clothes, when he asks about the pin Fionn would seem somewhat confused. He looks at the pin Sub is staring at "Oh? This you mean? I got it from Mister Dratter back in one of the posts, he gave it to me after um, he helped me with something, he said its limited edition and that its made out of silver.." He explains to Sub.
"Wait.... dratter? You mean the DRATTER PACK!!?" He said as he stood up. "Where did you get this and WHEN!!!" Sub broke out of his usually calm tone. "I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET THESE FOR AWHILE!!! Usually, I'm way too busy to go to their presentations but did you mention IT WAS LIMITED?!!!?" He put his hands on Fionn's shoulders. "You are one lucky BASTARD. WHO GAVE IT TO YOU, WAS IT BIG? TELL ME IT WAS BIG?!!" He said as he shook Fionn while booming. He noticed what was doing, cleared his throat, tried to reclaim his composure and sat down. "Ahem, sorry about that. I got a little overexcited." He said with an embarrassed smile. "I'm a big fan of the dratter so I just couldn't control myself.
Fionn would seem a bit startled at first. As Sub stands in front of him and puts his hands on fionn's shoulders he'd seem suddenly intimidated, mostly by Sub's size and as Sub shakes him he'd seem flat out scared with his tail between his legs. As Sub suddenly composes himself and sits back down Fionn would compose himself as well, ultimately seeming more confused than scared.
"O-oh, its a-allright, d-don't worry.." he adds still somewhat shaken up, as he stutters he'd take a breath to relax and would absentmindedly look to his left as he recalls Sub's questions, "Um.. I got it just outside t-the post we were at two days ago, in the early morning after spending the night... H-he did say it was limited edition and he said his name was Ajax Dratter.. And um.. He was pretty b-big, around as big as you..." he says making his best effort to answer all of Sub's questions as he nervously holds on to Dark's coat.
Hugh dusted off the strong, almost medical scent of alcohol, sitting on the stool next to Dark's designed seat. "How are you guys going? Is this the place we are going to sleep tonight?" He asked to Zoe first, his legs too long and still touching the floor as he was sitting down.
Fionn would smile gently "A-allright, well, um, I'm gonna go wash some clothes, I'll be over in that room if you need anything washed." He says pointing at a door next to the bar, he'd bow at Sub and take his leave, heading to Hugh, Dark, Zoe, Sarah and June first and standing close to them, clearly wanting to ask something yet avoiding interrupting their conversation.
Fionn would smile nervously at the group. "Oh um.. Sorry for interrupting.. I was um, I'm gonna wash some clothes and um, I was wondering if you needed anything washed.. I um.. If you do I'll be in the back so feel free to drop it off." Fionn says nervously as he points to the back door.
Hugh's gaze broke away from Dark's glass and the rabbit turned back to Fionn. He hopped out of his seat and got to him. "I'll get with you! That way we can work together before getting a room for the night!" He said excitedly, before blinking a few times, and speak again. "... I mean... If that's alright with you."
Fionn would look at the three and nod, then he'd turn to Hugh. "Oh um... If you want to.. I um.. You can stay here and talk with them a little longer, feel free to come by when you wish." He says to Hugh.
Hugh nodded, suddenly remembering what he was doing next to the group of ladies. "I just have a quick question to ask to June, and I will join you," he said, "I will get a key for us both so we can get upstairs as soon as we will be over with the laundry!"
The rabbit then turned to June, smiling. "May I?" He asked first, in case that the woman would prefer talking to Zoe instead.
Fionn nods at Hugh, he makes a bow to everyone and takes his leave, walking away from the group to the door next to the bar. Once he was inside he'd look for the washtub and fill it up with water, he'd check Dark's coat, making sure to empty all the pockets and leaving Dark's items aside, he would then continue to thoroughly wash Dark's coat.
Zoe stayed quiet and listened to what Hugh was going to ask. Sarah began playing around with her glass after having finished with the water inside, which prompted Zoe to take the glass and get the bartender to refill it and give it back to the little girl.
Hugh gave Fionn a friendly wave before smiling June and started to speak: "Well, I was just a little worried as I saw you go to tavern -and actually, you too-" he shortly pointed a finger at Zoe, smiling at her as well. "You both seemed angry, or preoccupied about something, I just took too long to ask about it, so here I go, please accept my apologies. Is everything alright with the drivers and our group?"
The rabbit nervously twirled his thumbs for a short time and spoke again. "I mean, you both are kind of... extern to our group -or at least, our mission-, and we surely aren't the easiest to manage like you have done so far, especially for this trip to Harknest." Hugh seemed unsure the words he used were well chosen, but it was the best his tired self could do.
"Oh the drivers are fine," June answered promptly, not giving Zoe a chance to interject. The question had been directed at her, after all. "It's Mira and her boyfriend that had us riled up. See, they were supposed to be watching Sarah, But they decided to get drunk instead."
If Hugh's fur could have gotten any whiter, he would have been mistaken for an albinos rabbit by Dark and the three girls around him. Safe for his cheeks, of course, suddenly turning bright red. He choked on his own breath, blinking a few times but other than that not even moving from where he was standing, despite not feeling his legs. It was of a grotesque view to see Hugh trying to remain calm as he tugged on the collar of his shirt, and managed to speak louder than his own breath.
"A... ah, so they m... must have disappointed a few, with their attitude." He said, trying his best to cool down. He managed to do so, and immediately added: "I guess you sent them to their rooms, since I saw Xil walk through the stairs, over there?" He briefly pointed at the said doorway, before grabbing his locket in his own pocket.
"I dinnae do anything, luv, they went to their room on their own," Zoe replies, looking over he back to the stairs. "Gonna chew em out tomorrow. They were rat arsed tonight, so they wouldn't listen to my nagging."
"The cranberries. Even the chamomile and wallnut shells...," Red said, then got a few strands of his hair, the reddish color fading and reverting into a more blonde shade. "See? And I can't get those things now... I got to cover this up somehow..."
"Well... you can't cover that up now," Momo said. "Why don't you just... wash it off and keep it natural? For once?", she suggested, actually wanting to see Red with his natural hair color. "You can't get the ingredients for it, eitherway, right?"
(I made sure that Scarlet entered the inn, so she doesn't have to wait outside this time ^-^)
Hugh nodded at Zoe in respect of her decision. "Thank you, Zoe." He then gave Dark an unamused smile. "Should I get him a room as well?" Hugh asked Zoe, picking the smallest piece of bread for himself.
Hugh, still a bit shaken by the news about Mira and Xil, let out a nervous squeak at June's order. Though, briefly after Dark ate his own piece of bread, he answered Zoe. "He wasn't too bad when we stayed in at that inn back when we were in Vile Root, but I shall find a three bed room for Fionn, too. Poor wolf won't be left on the floor, not on my watch." He gave a wink at the wooden counter of the tavern, smiling to himself.
(Para, please don't decide the speed at which Dark eats his bread. You are not his rper. I don't care if it's minor, it still bothers me.)
"Well, Connor wasn't drunk in Vile Root, luv," Zoe says, finishing her bread and water.
Dark ordered another glass of wine, this one being his sixth. However, when it would arrive, Zoe would take it from him. "You've had enough, luv," Zoe says, taking a sip from, now her, wine. Dark pouts as he eats his bread.
Sarah had been quietly eating her bread and drinking water, looking around the tavern at the various people.
(I could say that it's only Hugh's opinion, wether Dark was eating quick or slow, it would still be his appreciation. But, since it bothers you so much, I am sorry.)
"I know, I know..." Hugh replied. He seemed annoyed the woman had to mention the obvious, so instead he simply turned his attention to the drunk human. "If you're too tired, Dark, I could get you to our room." He said softly, speaking directly to him.
"If you don't mind," June said, nodding. She signaled the bartender. While he came over, she said, "I'll get our room secured." She did exactly that, securing the key and paying for a room... But not the kind she wanted.
"Looks like we're getting four single beds instead," she said. "See if you can find someone to fill the empty bed before you come up, okay?" she added before heading up the stairs. She would leave the door open for Zoe to find later.
Hugh caught that last bit of conversation. "Ah, so we might do the same, and find a last pal to share the room with us." He said to Dark, and called the bartender for a room with four single beds. Quickly getting the key, Hugh put it in his pocket and sat closer to Dark. "It may be early, but w might have to do a bit of preparation in our room before the night comes... and I believe you like playing games?" He added with a smirk.
"Oh, umm, the owner of the tavern let me come back here to wash some clothes, would you rather go out to the dining area with the others?" Fionn says to scarlet, as he speaks while washing dark's coat the tone of his voice would sound rather monotone, his attention clearly being fully dedicated to his chore.
(Dark could start being talkative and tell his opinions on the group or Hugh if he wanted to, I had guessed it was a random btw x3)
"You're not fun, Dark" Hugh sighed softly, yet still smiling. "We should take a look at our room at least! Come on, I will take you there!" He said, trying to sound excited though being quite unsure of how to react with this kind of... drunk state from Dark. He hopped off his chair and went to pull the human's arm over his shoulders.
(Oh my. Alright I didn't even notice I could do that about Connor, if it's that important xD)
Hugh marked a pause and turned to Zoe and Sarah. "I will try my best getting him a safe spot to sleep for the time being." He told them, smiling as he was almost lifting Dark onto his back. He gave a little frown as the drunk Elemental was weighting on his left shoulder, but shifted on a better position.
He started walking towards the stairs. "My ladies, good night! And you, Connor, you stay calm until we get you a nice bed!" He said, guessing and pronouncing Dark's name a little louder as he spoke.
"We mustn't lose time then!" Hugh chuckled and got through the doorway, looking up to the stairs. The memory of Xil and Mira walking up through the same path was still making him upset, and he took the decision to get a closer look, or listen to their room. The rabbit first had to get upstairs with Dark, and he managed to walk the first few steps easily.
(Hugh's the jealous creep who hopes he will only hear snoring ;~; )
After unlocking the door as well as he could, Hugh would hobble to the first bed he saw, which was the closest to the bath room. He would gently sit Dark on the side of the rather thick layer of blankets, and plop down next to him with a loud sigh.
(I was thinking about it as in Dark and Hugh are only sitting, so there is more space? Like, you can sit three people on the side of one single bed, but only one person can lay on it. If Dark decides to fall on his back and lay on the bed, Hugh would be forced to stand up ^-^
Also what's the spelling for the thing under the bed? Mattrass?)
"Hahaha!" Hugh couldn't hold an honest chuckle at Dark's surprising hiccup, "Well, Dark it will be then, I'm more used to it..." He said, marking a short pause. "But where does Connor come from, then?" The rabbit asked him, hopping off the bed and grabbing a chair to sit on, in case Dark would want to sprawl on the bed a little more freely.
Momo gleamed at Red. "Can I!?", she asked with excitement in her voice, accidentally asking out loud. She lowered her voice a little, looking around before looking back at Red. "Can I really see it?", she whispered.
"I mean... why not?", he shrugged. "It's not really THAT personal. 'Sides... it's dumb keeping these kinds of things so.. of course you can," he said. He looked forward, to see how close they were getting to the tavern.
"I'm not tired at alllll. I sleeped *hic* on the way to Zeeb. Your eyes must be broken," Dark says. He stands up from the bed. "I'm goung back down tothe bar," he adds as he starts heading out tbe room's door.
"No one *hic* even put yooooou in charge, Hugh," Dark says, getting out of Hugh's grasp. "I'm my *hic* my own person. So just *hic* fuck off!" He adds angrily as he drunkingly turns and fast walks down the hall to the bar.
Fionn would stop, letting the coat just sink into the water, clearly the question caught him of guard, he turns to Scarlet for a moment. ~I um.. I don't know how to explain it.. When I was with my parents it was like, I felt safe, I mean, even though my parents would get into trouble they cared for me.. They thaught me how to be careful and how to look after myself if they werent around and when I would get in trouble, they would make things right. It felt like.. Like I was part of something... Like I wasnt alone...~ He answers to Scarlet, his gaze would be directed towards the floor as his ears draw back and down, after a moment of staring at nothing he'd return to the jacket, squeezinge the excess water off of it.
Fionn would wring the coat as to remove as much water as posible, then he'd shake it out before hanging it to dry. Fionn would take off his vest, remove the pin and the flower, pocketing the pin in his pants and gently placing the flower on the floor, he'd kneel back down next to the wash tub and start washing his vest. ~Um.. Say, could I ask you to go look for Hugh? The sooner I wash his clothes the better.~ He says to Scarlet.
As Dark stormed out of sight into the staircase and the crowded bar, Hugh's paws were clenched tight and his nostrils flared with anger. "F... Fine! Go drown in your own glass, you... you... you uncontrollable person!" He'd shout but not very loudly, shaking his fist in the air. He stared blankly at the now empty corridor, suddenly cold and dark. "H-Hmpf." He sighed, shaking but not moving an inch, before looking at his surroundings.
June popped her head out of the room she had booked upon hearing the loud thumps of Dark falling down the stairs. She looked at Hugh for a moment in confusion, then down the hallway at the stairs. "I'm gonna go see if he's okay," she said, pointing at the stairs, and walking that way after locking her door.
When she got downstairs, she saw Dark almost immediately. He clearly far too drunk, and sitting at the bar, so she approached. "Hon, don't you think you ought to be somewhere less... Tempting?" she asked when she arrived, waving the bartender who was approaching her away.
June popped her head out of the room she had booked upon hearing the loud thumps of Dark falling down the stairs. After a moment of waiting for some indicator of nothing being wrong, and DEFINITELY NOT HUGH ANGRY IN AN EMPTY HALLWAY, she locked the door and proceed downstairs. When she saw Dark, clearly far too drunk, sitting at the bar, she approached.
Hugh shook his head and as June walked right past him, he only let out a low "Don't care...", and felt another rush of blood through his head. He decided to turn his attention somewhere else, and stood in front of the door of his room. Suddenly, he remembered Xil and Mira, and listened around, dismissing the distant noises coming from downstairs. The rabbit was guessing he would hear the loud tiger's snoring, but nothing came to his ears.
Dark looked at June. "I think I'm *hic* goood here. Zoe's goionta make suurre I don't drink. Rite, Zoe?"
Zoe nods. "Yeah, luv, don't you worry about him. I've got it handled," Zoe says to the large woman.
Meanwhile, eight Swordsmen were walking down the streets of Zeeb. They initially arrived on horseback but had dropped their horses off at a farm on the east side of Zeeb. They were heading toward the tavern.
"Remember, we're only here to rest up a bit before we head off again, so I don't want anyone getting drunk, got it?" one of the Swordsman say. They were female and clearly in charge.
"Yes ma'am," six of the seven say.
"Jura?" the woman in charge asks.
"I doubt I'd even be able to get any alcohol considering things," Jura, a sixteen year old Swordsman prodigy, replied.
"Hm," the woman says, before turning her head back forward as they continued toward their destination.
Hugh was about to get back into his room, but suddenly remembered he promised Fionn to help him with cleaning the different clothes. The rabbit stood there a bit, waiting to hear if Dark or June had gone far away from the stairs.
Hugh nodded to himself. "Alright." He conclued, only hearing the uncomprehensible rumor coming from downstairs. As he stepped down, he immediately looked towards the bar, spotting the group around Harss. The rabbit's gaze quickly drifted to Scarlet's rather recognizeable fur, and he stared at her, keeping himself under the doorway separating the tavern and the stairs area.
"Hm? What?" Zoe says as she turns toward where June is looking. "Oh, I- wait... is that..." she says, squinting to look more closely. "Melanie!"
"What?! Melanie?!" Sarah says, turning. "Melanie!" Sarah yells to the Squad of Swordsmen as she waves to them.
One of the Swordsmen, a rabbit anthro from Yarrin named Damien, turns toward Sarah's yells. "Ah, ma'am..." he says, poking the commander of their squad, who happens to be Melanie and pointing her in the direction of the yelling.
Melanie looks where she had been pointed. "I was not informed about Zoe being in the area," Melanie says, waving back to the little girl.
"Well, she is an Elite. Their area of operations aren't usually given," Damien replies.
"Hm, true," Melanie says. "Why don't we find out? I've been meaning to catch up with my old friend."
"We could figure out why she's hanging around with a Coalition Mage..." Damien says.
Melanie looks at June. "I hadn't even noticed," Melanie replies. She turns to the rest of her squad. "You six sit at a table. Me and Damien are going to have a chat with a friend," she orders as her and Damien turn and walk toward the Acker's and June.
Damien looks June up and down, realizing that the woman was correct. "Oh, you..." he says, embarrassed.
"Ah, so this is the woman you got into a bar fight with a while back," Melanie says, remembering the story Damien drunkingly told after the ordeal. She looks at June, then back to Damien. "I guess you were telling the truth after all. Lloyd owes you some money," she quietly says to the rabbit anthro, to which Damien nodded. "Where are my manners? It's a pleasure to meet you, June. I'm Melanie Virna, thoughI'm sure you knew that already," she greets June, holding out her hand to the large woman.
Hugh had the time to spot the group of Swordsmen in the tavern, but immediately, his attention switched to Scarlet, who was on the verge of tearing a part of his pants' fabric. He didn't want to resist at all, and so followed her in the back parts of the tavern where Fionn was. "Fionn!" Hugh would say as soon as he would see the dandy wolf. "Scarlet is very good at making people follow her!"
"Indeed," Melanie says, looking at the Acker sisters and chuckling. "Never a subtle entrance when the Acker's are around."
Zoe and Sarah smile when they are looked at, Sarah's smile being wider.
Melanie takes her hand out of the handshake and turns fully to Zoe. "Now, I wasn't told that you were in the area when we were given our assignment, so, if I may ask, Zoe, what might you be doing out here?"
"I'd love to tell you, but you weren't informed of my being here for a reason, luv. An Elite's doings are classified," Zoe says. She then nods in Dark's direction and winks.
Melanie looks to where Zoe nodded to see Dark talking with another person sitting up at the counter. She gains an expression of realization and looks back at Zoe, nodding. "Of course. I should've known asking would get me nowhere."
Fionn would stand up as Hugh calls his name "Ah, I hope we didn't interrupt anything.. I was just wondering if you'd like me to wash your jacket now." he answers to Hugh, holding his hands over the wash tub as they drip a good amount of soapy water.
June turned to Damien, realizing that Melanie and Zoe would want to catch up. "So, someone owes you money because of me?"
(Retroactively because I have been lazy.)
Liam had walked out of the village area, to a secluded beach on the shore of the nearby lake. He was unaware that the weightless Darkness golem had slunk in the shadows following him until it was too late. Too quickly for him to react, the Earth Elemental met an ironic demise under the crushing weight of a gigantic boulder.
"Correct. One of the people in our squad, a fox anthro named Lloyd, bet that you weren't as large I described. Attempting to make a joke about how I'm not the strongest person I presume," Damien states. "We tried to find you the morning after the incident to fulfill the bet, but we were unable to as I'm sure you are able to guess."
(Discussion about rabbit anthros came up because of Damien, and we realized that since average height is down around 5', HUGH IS A TALL MOFO. Probably has some hare in him, or maybe the browns are just really really tall. Perhaps that's why that one other rabbit anthro flipped out? The Browns are semi-famous for their height?)
"Well alright. Let's go over and talk to him," She said with a playfully aggressive grin. She stood up, towering over the much smaller rabbit anthro. Being 6'3", and built like a brick wall, she would easily match or surpass any description of size.
Damien looked the large woman up and down. "Alright. Follow," Damien says, turning and looking for the rest of his squad. He spotted them at a table and began walking toward it. When he arrived at the table he stopped and stood there, the squad looking up at him. "Lloyd, I have someone you should meet."
June didn't say anything further, but smiled, and held his had probably just a bit too tight for just a bit too long before pulling back, and putting both hands behind her back. Out of pure desensitization, she didn't realize that her Coalition badge was easily visible.
"If it's the fire mage making a fuss South of here a few days back, sorry, but my brother and I already bagged him," June said, sitting down. She was in much better spirits now that she knew she was dealing with Swordsmen she had already encountered, and that she wasn't likely to be attacked.
"We weren't given much info, but the mage in question stole one of the Monk's books from their library," Damien says.
"Only other details given by Tybalt were that they wore a Swordsmen mask," Melanie states. "We're heading down to Vile Root to see if we are able to get any more info out of the Monks."
"Ohh, I see," Zoe says, somewhat relieved that it was most likely not June.
(Meanwhile, in the futuuuuuuure)
Melanie and the rest of her squad arrive at the front entrance of the Monk's Library in Vile Root. Melanie and Damien go up to the door while the rest of the squad hangs behind. They knock on the library's door and wait for an answer.
Fionn would stand up as Hugh calls his name "Ah, I hope we didn't interrupt anything.. I was just wondering if you'd like me to wash your jacket now." he answers to Hugh, holding his hands over the wash tub as they drip a good amount of soapy water.
Hugh nodded. His ears were still fluttering uneasily, as if he had been stressed or upset a few minutes ago, which was the case. He started to unbutton his vest open, and took it off. "You need a-any help with that, in the end?" He asked the anthro wolf, handing him the piece of rather fine clothing, where the signature of his name was sewn on the inside of the back piece.
(Holy damn I hope 5' is the head to toe size cuz otherwise with the ears HUGH IS HELLA HUGE. I had already stated on Hugh's page that he was supposed to be a snowshoe hare, but we stuck with bunny/rabbit. I fully agree with the fact that the Browns are known for their height. It's at least not a dramatic story but more of something every Brown has been known for, and it might be a just a little embarassing over time xD
"Oh, uh-uhm, right let me just.." Fionn would instead of taking Hugh's vest, take his own out of the water, wringing it tightly and quickly and placing it on the floor and then attempting to pick up the wash tub "L-let me just get you some clean water.." He says as he slightly lifts up the wash tub, carefully trying to keep his balance.
The rabbit would protest at first: "Aw Fionn, there is no need to change the water for me, it would be a waste- unmf!" But upon seeing Fionn lift the the tub, Hugh would attempt to help. Though, since he doesn't really know where to grab the tub, Hugh would just stand there trying to hold it from the sides, and move with the wolf anthro. "A... Are you sure this is necessary?"
June also breathed a silent sigh of relief. "How do you know they're a Mystery mage, if all they did was steal a book? Any sp- Ah... Anybody could do it if they were skilled enough."
The massive doors opened slightly, letting a rush of library air out. A tall man stood on the other side. He wore pants and shoes made out of a scaly black leather, and a vest covered in what appeared to be hark feathers. He wore no shirt under the vest, and no jacket over top. His chocolate colored hair was slicked back and neat, but showed signs of dandruff and greying. The bandages around his exposed arms made it clear that despite his irregular appearance, he was definitely a monk.
The man took a pipe out of his mouth, and smiled at the Swordsmen. "Hello there. We've been expecting you. Do come in and let's talk."
"O-of course! Y-your vest seems rather fine and M- uh.. Dark's coat was r-rather dirty, I'd just hate to ruin your vest.." He says, stuttering a bit as he focuses on the washtub, once they reach a suitable spot he'd not to Hugh and empty it with his assistance, continuing to start filling it up with clean water afterwards and paying no mind to his own vest at all as he readies the washtub for Hugh's clothes.
"No common thief can get inside the library without the aid of a Monk," Melanie says. "The intruder was said to be able to teleport into and out of the interior of the library."
"Of course," Melanie says, signaling Damien to follow and walking past the monk into the library. Both her and Damien would look around the library as they waited for the hark feathered man say or ask something.
June decided that it was probably for the better that she use the old terminology in this instance. "I'm a spirit mage," she said.
"From the report Lidia gave me, a Swordsman, likely human. Around six feet tall, and somewhat thin based on shoulder width. They were wearing a hooded brown cloak, and a swordsman mask. Neither the mask nor the cloak bore any largely identifying details," the monk explained. "Anything else?"
"Oh, so you use both Coaltion and Monk terminologies for the Elements, then?" Melanie asks. She is handed a glass of wine by Damien which she takes a sip of.
The food arrives and Zoe begins passing it out, handing June her steak and Sarah and Dark their soup as well as her own soup. Sarah takes a sip of her soup then realizes it's too hot, to which Dark tells her to let it cool. Zoe waits for her's too cool as she listens to Mel and June's conversation.
"Hm," Melanie says, realizing that this Monk was only retelling what he had been told from another. "May I speak with Lidia? I believe talking to the primary source would be more... beneficial... to our hunt," she adds bluntly.
As the washtub was slowly filling with hot water, Hugh smiled at Fionn, trying to make it stop worrying for a moment. "My vest isn't any more important than Dark's... or yours." He says, nodding in direction of Dark's coat then to Fionn's vest laying on the floor. "I can always ask my mother to make me a new one when I come back..." He added, his tune a little more hesitant suddenly, not really meant to be noted.
June began cutting her steak. "I was recently introduced to the Monk's terminology, so I understand it, but as I am a Coalition Mage, I will use our terminology where it is appropriate."
"Lidia has moved to the library in Iberium. I am the Organizer for this library for the next foreseeable while," the man explained. "She did, however, share direct memories with me, so my word is as good as hers."
(Hmm, hey para? Just wanted to point out that Fionn just left his vest on the floor as he wasnt done washing it, he just prioritized Hugh's over his, unless Hugh did a time thing i dont see who would've hung Fionn's vest.)
"Y-your mother made this?? All the more reason to be extra careful with it!" Fionn adds, he'd look at his claws for a moment and extends his paw to Hugh "Promise I'll be very careful." He reassures to him.
(Oh, lol, naw then its cool, tho considering Fionn just left it in the floor I'd say at least another soak would be in order but lol, we'll get to that in a bit then, in any case Fionn would be way too focused on his current task to have even noticed so, feel free to reply whenever.)
(I'll change it. Time magic will be for another day, heh.)
"Fiiiiooooonnn!" Hugh would groan, rolling his eyes. "She'll still wait for me with a new one anyway, I mean..." Hugh stopped for second, lost in thoughts while holding the wolf's paw for the short handshake. "... when... if I come back." He finished, his ears folding onto his back as he gave Fionn a soft bow. "My vest has little to no matter compared to what we should take care of." he added quickly, trying to brush the thought about his mother away.
"It has much matter! Uhh.. I mean, it is very important Hugh, you know, just because you have this thing you have to do it doesn't mean you should forget about your family and leave them behind, and if... If you don't know if you'll be going home afterwards then that gives you even more reason to treasure something they gave you..." Fionn answers back as he gently begins to clean Hugh's vest. "I wish my parents had given me something this nice instead of..." He'd stop and just continue washing the vest.
(is he talking about the necklace or something? I can't remember T.T )
Hugh turned to Fionn, after picking his vest and standing now right next to him. "Instead of... what? I know gifts are important no matter what is is, Fionn, but what matters more is the act of being gifted something, not the gift itself. It just helps to remember it, but even without a vest, I know my parents loved me." He added. "So, what did your parents gave you, again? I can't remember..."
(Just to clarify, Hugh has Fionn's vest right now then? If not I'll edit the comment.)
"A lockpicking set..." He'd say lowering his head and ears a bit. He'd look at Hugh and notice his own piece of clothing in the rabbit's paws. "Oh, uhm, you don't have to bother yourself with that, I'll get back to it once I finish with yours." He adds.
"You could say that," June confirmed. She wasn't too keen on spilling the beans on the whole 'traveling with the Elementals' thing just yet, and she realized as she thought about it that the whole 'Elementals' thing was crazy anyways.
"Very well," the Monk said, then turned around and looked up at the balcony. "Ikan!"
A goat anthro looked up from his studies. Realizing he was being summoned, he placed a mark in his book and went down the stairs. "Yes, Bruce?"
Bruce smiled, and returned to looking at Melanie and her squad. "Would you be so kind as to share a memory?"
"Okay," Ikan replied. He placed his left hand on the side of Bruce's face, and held his right one out towards Melanie. He wouldn't just go ahead and touch her until she showed some form of consent.
(If any of you take that last bit out of context I swear to God...)
Hugh nodded. "Hey, might be useful if they thought about giving it to you!!" Hugh said quickly about the lockpicking set. His neverending smile was spreading across his face as he giggled, and started washing Fionn's vest without even answering him. The rabbit just kept on talking about the set. "I wish I had had one back in Hideston, you know! Got trapped in an old bookstore... We had to destroy a wall to get Mira and I out of there alive."
"Wait, I thought Mira taught you, luv?" Zoe asked, confused.
Melanie nodded, giving her consent. She knew how the process worked somewhat, having learned from Natalie when she had used her as practice for the very same power. Unfortunately, Nat's attempts were unsuccessful, so she didn't know how the process felt. This would be new to her.
"Well," June started, quickly thinking of how to keep her story straight. "You helped. Mira taught me some, but you helped really set it in."
For a brief moment there was nothing, but then there was a flash, and Melanie was living the moment from Lidia's point of view. Every action and emotion felt as though she had done it herself. When the flashback was over and Ikan pulled away, Melanie would have the memory as though she had been there, and had done exactly what Lidia had done.
"Be careful with that memory," Ikan warned. "It's not your own, even if it feels like it is."
"I'll be careful," Melanie says, nodding to Ikan. She stands up and walks toward the shelf where the book was stolen, Damien in tow. "This is where it happened, yes?" Melanie asks, assuming Bruce had followed as well. She knew it was, having remembered from the memory, but was asking in the event they'd give more info on it.
Fionn would seem rather anxious as Hugh starts washing his vest but would opt to continue the conversation rather than going on about his vest. "You know why they gave me that... Its bad, its meant for bad things.." He says as he takes Hugh's vest out of the tub and rinses off the soap.
Hugh nodded and let out squeak that had the same meaning as a groan. "I-I know, Fionn! But even if this set represents something bad, there are still so many good ways to use it! Imagine we had a very important... let's say... umh..." Hugh stopped washing Fionn's vest. He actually hadn't really done anything to it yet, simply sinking in and pulling it out of the water, while he was talking. "... a book. Hidden in a sort of case that needs to be opened. This set would be useful! If your scroll in Vile Root was hidden by such ways, you would have used it to know about your powers, wouldn't you?"
"N-No! Because if it had that would mean it wasn't meant for me if i don't have the key!" Fionn would answer quickly. "U-uncle said that if I don't have a key for something then its not for me and I shouldnt even touch it." He explains to Hugh.
(Next episode with drunk Sub and Falaos. Bar fight jk xD)
Hugh would appear some kind of shocked for a second. "But... But... What if it was all a test? If deep within you, you knew you had the power, wouldn't you crave for some info about it? Some things are meant to be hard to reach, though..." He sighed and shook his head. "... I guess yeah, the real test would be for you to find the key instead of opening the box. You're actually right." Hugh had made the whole thinking, mumbling to himself and speaking out loud at times, and he ended on that conclusion. "But this set is still important. Your parents gave it to you and it is more worth on sentimental ways than real utility."
Fionn would nod in agreement as Hugh reaches the conclusion of his argument. "Of course its important! I mean, if it wasnt I wouldnt carry it with me anymore... But at least yours will keep you warm right?" He asks to the rabbit as he gently wrings the vest.
Hugh would simply shrug. "Like any other vest, yeah. The only thing it is special for is because it's made by my mother, and thankfully! Because I wouldn't find any clothing my size around here..." The rabbit would let out a chuckle and offer to take back his vest and hang it, while giving Fionn his vest.
Bruce nodded to Ikan, allowing him to return to his studies. He then walked up behind Melanie. "Yes. The Soul's Guidance in original Entherstian. Thankfully it was only a copy, and not the original text."
"Mmhmm," Melanie says. "So I take it Mira's a monk or...?"
"Not quite, luv. She's the Mystery Elemental," Zoe says.
"Mmhmm," Melanie says. She moves closer to the shelf and looks at the various translations of the books. She picks one out, this one being in rabbit, and hands it to Damien for analysis. She then turns to Bruce. "What is The Soul's Guidance about may I ask?" she asks despite having Damien figuring it out as she speaks.
June decided that Zoe could be the one to talk to Melanie now, and continued eating her steak.
"It's an autobiography of a Death Elemental who learned a lot about Soul Enslavement," Bruce explained. "Something I myself find quite interesting. Unfortunately, I doubt I will ever have that door opened to me."
"Connor?!" a voice from behind says. Melanie and Damien turn to look at the voice while Zoe simply moves her head to look around Melanie. It was Jura.
Dark looks up when his voice is heard and sees Jura. "Jura?"
"Jura!" Sarah says, jumping off her chair and hugging Jura's legs.
"Sarah!" Jura says, kneeling down to pick up Sarah.
"Jura, I specifically said to stay at the table!" Melanie says.
"Yeah, but we were all curious as to what was going on over here," Jura says, struggling to hold Sarah. "Gosh, you've gotten heavy since I last saw you, Sarah..."
"That's cause I've grown since then!" Sarah says.
"I see," Melanie says. "Damien, do you think-"
"Doubtful," Damien says. "To me it seems like the opposite," he adds, putting the book back.
"You don't think..." Melanie says.
"Possible," Damien says. "There have been reports of similar events from other squads."
"True," Melanie says. She turns to Bruce. "Thank you for your time, Sir."
Fionn would hand over Hugh's vest and take his own and continue washing it. "Oh, to be honest I'd like to wash all my clothes but I lost my other change of clothes and I doubt I can get some here." He says as he washes his vest.
"Same feeling." Hugh agreed with a nod. He then turned around to hang his vest next to Dark, but spotted Scarlet on his way. "Hey, I believe Scarlet's scratching herself a little often, wouldn't she need a bath too?" The rabbit chuckles, shaking his paws at her to make the few drops of water fall onto the beast wolf.
"Oh, yeah I suppose she does need a bath, just let me finish this quickly then." He says taking his vest out of the water and wringing it. "Would you please take care of this water while hang my vest?" He says as he stands up and goes to do so. "I'll help in just a moment."
Hugh nodded quickly and took hold of the tub, almost hugging it and pulling it off the counter. "A-ight! Here we go!" He said, before hobbling to the place where he would be able to put some new, clean water in it.
Fionn would hang his vest to dry and would quickly go help Hugh afterwards. ~Don't worry Scarlet, we'll give you a quick bath to get rid of all that dirt on your back.~ He says to Scarlet as they get some clean water to bathe her. "Oh my! I absolutely forgot I found some cards and some money in Dark's coat, I should return those soon.." Fionn would speak out to himself as they wait for the tub to fill up.
Hugh smiled at Fionn howling and barking at Scarlet, but his ears perked up as the wolf anthro spoke about Dark's stuff. He didn't want to talk about it but the fact there were cards in his vest were making him feel bad for some reason. But the feeling quickly disappeared as Scarlet barked twice the same sound. "Mh?"
Hugh was standing silent, measuring how good of an idea it would be. Sure, Scarlet was a wild animal, but she seemed like losing her natural scent wouldn't be a terrible loss, given how much time she spent with humans and anthros already. Plus, she could get uncomfortable with all the dirt dust on her fur, she could even get worse, and be sick!
The rabbit looked directly at Fionn. Honestly, he was still a bit afraid of wolves and Scarlet could reveal herself as quite deadly for him. Yet he stepped closer. "We really won't hurt her by brushing her fur a little, will we?" He shared a glance with the anthro. "You should tell her it's unharmful and quite needed, Fionn." He added, trying to circle her and block her path to the tavern.
Hugh crouched to pat the wolf's back. "Hey Scarlet, I have handled more cuteness than that, by the way." He giggled, not sure she had understood, but simply stuck his tongue out at her with a friendly smile.
~Don't worry, I promise it will feel great and it will be really fast! And hey, once youre all clean then im sure it won't be a problem if you sleep on my bed tonight!~ Fionn would add trying to convince her.
At the same time, Hugh thought out loud. "Hey! You think we could have Scarlet sleeping in our room tonight? I couldn't have anything else than a four beds room." The rabbit said rapidly, looking at Fionn.
